Hei hei! My name is Vici, I am 21 years old, German but living and thriving in Bergen, Norway.
! - - - For now, I'm exploring Bergen and it's surroundings. If there's any workawayer in Bergen who wants to join me on this mission, hit me up:) Because of work and uni I won't be able to do a workaway anytime soon, but if you're a host in Bergen and could need some help, I could maybe join your project on some days. I hope I can travel again in summer 2025 and do a workaway for a couple of weeks, preferably either in Northern Norway or Georgia. - - - !
When I'm not at the university, you can probably find me on a mountain - which means I'm either working or hiking, camping, sitting by a campfire etc. If not on a mountain, I might be dancing salsa, dogsitting, swimming or icebathing. I'm also in the Red Cross Help Corps.
I am open to try new things and discover new interests where I did not know that they existed. Just like I discovered in South America that I love building houses and beekeeping:))
I consider myself as adventurous, curious, helpful and energetic. I can be very outgoing, but in some settings I'm usually rather quiet. In general, I can handle and appreciate both.
I love this platform since it made me get to know local or alternative ways of living, try out new things and have an exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences. I feel like it's a very sustainable way of travelling, also because it made me build deeper connections with people and places (and dogs and cats^^) and made me learn and grow much more than I could have ever, if I, for instance, had only stayed in hostels (which has been fun, too!). I'm absolutely grateful for the people I've met via this platform who I can call my friends and even family now:)Interessengebiete

I love languages, so YES. Im especially interested in Spanish language exchange as learning Norwegian made my Spanish suffer and I don't get many chances to use it here. Nevertheless, I always love to learn some new phrases in other languages as well as to share my knowledge. I love learning in general.Bereiche, die mich interessieren oder in denen ich anderen etwas beibringen kann

I've joined 8 different workaways over the past 3 years, to some of them I also returned. The work I've done was about building clay houses (my favourite), (organic) agriculture including agroforestry and reforestation, gardening, building projects, cooking, house and pet sitting, cuddling dogs, honey and wine harvest and making firewood.
My first workaway was at a hostel and I've been working as a waitress for a while now so I'm quite trained regarding interaction with customers, communication, switching back and forth between languages, shift management, doing a lot of things at once etc. It's a tough job at times but I usually love it^^
I'm a geophysics student at the University of Bergen. I just started this degree in August but so far I feel like I found my field^^ I've also studied International and European Law for a year in the Netherlands. While I still remember quite some stuff; please don't ask me to defend your case though^^ I could hold a monologue about the UN or how to get from law to geophysics.
I have some knowledge about animal care. My family has a dog (a big teddy bear) and we used to have rabbits as well. I have some experience with horseback riding and as a child I spent the holidays on farms several times so I became acquainted with life at a farm and taking care of animals like cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, chicken or cats. In my last workaway in Norway, I mainly took care of cows, but also pigs, llamas, a horse and chicken. I am also interested in learning how to grow different kinds of vegetables and fruits, but I only have basic knowledge here.
Over the last five years I've pretty much constantly lived and worked together with many different people from different nationalities and backgrounds and learned quite well the benefits and challenges of living together, intercultural communication, sharing rooms and facilities, speaking different languages without excluding anyone etc. Be it when we hosted exchange students from Spain, Chile or Australia, when I lived in student housing with people from all over the place, during my workaways, at work, at university, language cafés and so on.
I'm also a self-taught photographer, I do videography (a bit less professionally though) and I have a passion for writing (I used to be the head of the journalism club at high school^^)
I'm open to any kind of work since I realised that (especially on workaway) it's also about the vibe and the people that make the work fun and I found several things that I like doing now which I had never tried before. For me, it's supposed to be a more holistic experience than just the plain idea of work in exchange for food and accommodation as it can be so much more.Alter

When at home I eat mostly vegan, when travelling rather vegetarian. So, I would just be very glad if I don’t have to eat meat or fish. Oh, and no beetroot please.

thanks a lot for the wonderful time we shared.
As you wrote, you came as a volunteer and left as a friend, part of the family.
The excellent work that you did with fixing the fences, firewood, fixing the woodshed, firewood, moving the big logs in the backyard, firewood, dicking in the trampoline and a lot more, was a big… read more
thank you so much for inviting me to your wonderful home! On the first day of my stay, when I texted my family that I arrived well, I also told them that this is my favourite workaway so far. At this point I didn't exactly know why but during the following weeks I figured it out well.
I truly enjoyed and already miss my time - that… read more
