I live in France. I would be very happy to enjoy my gap year by travelling in Ireland and improving my English. I hope I can be useful for different house tasks thanks to my skills.

Beschreibung

Hello, my name is Titouan Duflos. I was born and I live in the west of France.

I am 23 years old and I got a Bachelor’s degree in History and Geography this year. However, I decided to take a break from my studies to live new experiences and to think about my future.
During this gap year, I would like to spend a few months in Ireland.

I discovered the country during two school trips when I was in secondary school and high school. The first time, I visited the Galway area, and the second time, Dublin. I really enjoyed the landscapes and the Irish people, who were very welcoming. I would like to return to Ireland to visit it better, learn more about the culture, and improve my English.

I am conscientious in my work, and I am quite autonomous thanks to my studies and different student jobs. I am not afraid of physical work, especially outdoors, and I am open to learning new skills.

I am also very sociable: I want to come to Ireland to practise my English as much as possible, to speak with my hosts and discover their culture — not to stay alone on my phone. I would be very happy to stay with hosts who enjoy meeting their Workawayers and who can spend a bit of time with them.

My English level is intermediate. I have improved my grammar skills since the beginning of my gap year, but I don’t often have the opportunity to practise speaking, and I still search for my words when I speak or write in English. I would be very happy to make progress with my host, and I am ready to put in a lot of effort to improve my English every day.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Outside of my History and Geography studies at Université Bretagne Sud, I worked during my summers.
In the summer of 2024, I worked for three months as a gardener for a company called Aides & Services, a home-care company in the Vannes area. Thanks to this job, I learned how to use several tools, such as lawn mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, and a little bit the chainsaw.
In the summer of 2023, I worked as a cleaner for Agri Intérim, a temporary work agency also in the Vannes area, where I cleaned mobile homes in a campsite.
These professional skills were useful at home too, because I help take care of my grandmother’s house, where I live during my studies. So I am used to maintaining a house and a garden for basic tasks. I am familiar with working outdoors, and it doesn’t scare me.
I have some basic cooking skills as well, so I can help if needed. I’m pretty good at making savory pies.
I am currently trying to get my driving licence for an automatic car, and I hope to obtain it before my departure.
I am someone serious, careful and autonomous, and I always do my best in the tasks that are given to me.

Was noch ...

During my free time, I enjoy doing sports. I have been swimming for a year and a half and jogging for three years. I sometimes go hiking, especially during my holidays. I like visiting museums or interesting historical and cultural sites as well.
I also enjoy watching movies and series.
