Hello! I'm Theo!

I was born in Malaysia but grew up in New Zealand for most of my life. I have been living in Sydney over the past 3 years.

I am currently nearing the end of my 3 month travel but have decided to extend it since being back here in South East Asia! The purpose of my travel was to reset after 5 years in the corporate world but my gut tells me I'm not quite ready to get back there!

I am very keen to meet new people, immerse myself in different cultures and being a Malaysian, I would love to get back to my roots and upskill my Mandarin and Malay! Being here in South East Asia is very nostalgic given I remember some of my childhood here therefore I would love to spend time being a part of a community, or even helping out where I can. I find a lot of joy and fulfillment in connecting with families and the locals with partaking in their daily lives!

I love fitness. I like to move my body most days, whether that be walking, running, hiking etc. It's a big part of my life and I would love to share this passion with others. I find that it's such a great way to build connections with others!

I have a soft spot for animals too, growing up with a dog was the best thing that has happened.

Overall, I'm down to earth, always willing to lend a hand where I can. Whether that be working with kids, helping around the house, building things with my hands or simply just contributing in anyway I can!

I would love to do a language exchange. My native language is English so am fluent in it. I am interested in teaching English. I can understand some Mandarin but would love to learn and build it up to a conversational level. I would love to also be able to converse in Malay so am keen to learn the language!

I have been in the professional services industry the last 5 years so have developed interpersonal and soft skills.

I love fitness and have competed in various endurance sport races (Marathon, Triathlon etc) so am able to take on physical labour.

When I was younger, I volunteered at a food bank during Christmas, making food for the homeless.

My native language is English but I can understand basic mandarin and would like to develop it more to a conversational level.

Growing up, I was a big Rubik's Cube fan, I started a YouTube channel which gained over 6000 subscribers just show casing Rubik's Cubes and making tutorial videos. It was a big passion of mine therefore I can assist with social media content creation.

I love fitness. My life revolves around running, cycling, swimming and going to the gym. It is a big part of my life. During my 3 months travelling, I always aim to move my body at least 5 times a week, whether that be running or walking or hiking.

Growing up, I used to mow the lawns with dad. We would help his elderly friends who are less able to garden, I found so much joy in that. I love doing things with the elderly and spending time with the elderly to learn about their wisdom and life story. I am also fond of being around kids whether that be playing board games, running around or teaching them a new sport. I find joy is witnessing their curiousity and playfulness. One of my friends recently had their first born child and we would go over and play, draw and teach her the alphabet etc. It's really beautiful to see.

During my travels, I've gained a deeper love for card games. It is such a great way to bring people together, socialise and be off our phone devices. I'm always keen to learn new card games and remembering the card games I was taught.
