Hello my name is Sorcha, I am 29 years old, after living and working in the UK for the past 10 years I have decided to take on a new adventure and move to Greece. Before moving to Athens at the end of the year I'd love to explore some other areas in Greece and learn and share skills with the people I meet. I am always eager to experience new things and meet new people.

I have used workaway before and know it's a great way to learn and share skills and knowledge and build friendships along the way. My background is in both social geography and environmental science which I studied at undergraduate and masters level.

I have since worked as a journalist looking at climate, the environment, human rights, workers rights, sustainable farming practices and (at a lesser level) animal welfare. I still enjoy writing in my spare time.

More recently I have worked as a welfare rights officer in the Social Housing sector in Glasgow supporting vulnerable people with a plethora of issues. This has been an invaluable experience where I was given the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of people.

My academic and research backgrounds have provided me with in-depth knowledge of eco projects and sustainability - I'd love to learn more about permaculture. My volunteering and social work background have improved my social and organisational skills and have highlighted the importance of practicing empathy and compassion.

I enjoy cooking and would love to share my passion and knowledge for food as well as learn about the local foods in the places I visit. I have experience in cooking for large groups of people with limited ingredients and love to make the most of seasonal and local ingredients.

I am happy to help out in any way that I can, such as - DIY, cleaning, cooking, gardening, looking after animals, social media and meeting and greeting. I really look forward to getting to know you, your culture, your language and your country!
