I'm Severin, a drummer and musician from Erfurt, Germany, who loves traveling. I work at music schools where I teach drums and have become increasingly interested in music in general, including singing, piano, and bass.

During my Workaway trips, I enjoy helping people with their gardens, permaculture, household tasks, or community work. I like using my body and being active, and of course, I appreciate it when music is involved!

Workaway Experience:

Why I want to come to Portugal:
I'm planning to move to Portugal. Since Germany seems to be preparing for war and conscription is becoming more likely, I've decided to do what I've been thinking about anyway: moving to another country—Portugal. I have visited several times and really enjoyed the culture, people, and nature! I admire portuguese and South American music.

Music & Art:
I like many genres, but especially Samba, Bossa Nova, Indie, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Singer-Songwriter. Art in general captures my attention, including stand-up comedy, audio plays, films, novels, and improv theater.

Why I like Traveling:
Traveling fills me with hundreds of ideas and sensory experiences, particularly after feeling stagnant at home. Sometimes, I get a frustrating sense of 'I know enough' after spending too much time in one place (at home). It’s comfortable, but it can also feel too limiting. That's when I know it's time to travel again!

My Values:
I'm interested in politics and believe in truly democratic structures for everyone, rather than the modern power accumulations seen in Big Tech and Big Money alongside increasing hierarchies. I think communities and ecovillages are a wonderful way to promote these types of structures. However, I’m also open to joining individuals with their private Workaway projects.
While I’m not religious, I’m intrigued by the rich variety of spiritual philosophies that can illustrate a sense of 'sufficiency and wholeness' in our materialistic performance-driven society.
I consider myself a respectful and polite person and I try to help wherever I can. And yes, since this is the internet, I'm probably less great then my internet profiles (or... maybe I'm even better because I still didn't manage to select nice photos :D haha).
Anyway... I'm looking forward to Portugal and a new Workaway experience! :) See you there!

Sou Severin, um baterista e músico de Erfurt, na Alemanha, que adora viajar. Trabalho em escolas de música, onde ensino bateria, e tenho me interessado cada vez mais por música em geral, incluindo canto, piano e baixo.

Durante as minhas viagens com o Workaway, gosto de ajudar as pessoas com os seus jardins, permacultura, tarefas domésticas ou trabalho comunitário. Gosto de usar o meu corpo e ser ativo e, claro, aprecio quando há música envolvida!

Experiência Workaway:

Por que quero ir para Portugal:
Estou a planear mudar-me para Portugal. Como a Alemanha parece estar a preparar-se para a guerra e o serviço militar obrigatório está a tornar-se mais provável, decidi fazer o que já estava a pensar: mudar-me para outro país — Portugal. Já visitei o país várias vezes e adorei a cultura, as pessoas e a natureza! Admiro a música portuguesa e sul-americana.

Música e arte:
Adoro todos os tipos de música, mas especialmente samba, bossa nova, indie, funk, hip hop, jazz e cantores e compositores. A arte em geral capta a minha atenção, incluindo stand-up comedy, peças de áudio, filmes, romances e teatro improvisado.
Por que gosto de viajar:
Viajar enche-me de centenas de ideias e experiências sensoriais, especialmente depois de me sentir estagnado em casa. Às vezes, tenho uma sensação frustrante de «já sei o suficiente» depois de passar muito tempo num só lugar (em casa). É confortável, mas também pode parecer muito limitante. É aí que sei que está na hora de viajar novamente!

Os meus valores:
Interesso-me por política e acredito em estruturas verdadeiramente democráticas para todos, em vez das acumulações de poder modernas que vemos nas grandes empresas tecnológicas e financeiras, a par do aumento das hierarquias. Acho que as comunidades e as ecovilas são uma forma maravilhosa de promover este tipo de estruturas. No entanto, também estou aberto a juntar-me a indivíduos nos seus projetos privados Workaway.
Embora não seja religioso, sinto-me intrigado pela rica variedade de filosofias espirituais que podem ilustrar uma sensação de «suficiência e plenitude» na nossa sociedade materialista e orientada para o desempenho.
Considero-me uma pessoa respeitosa e educada e tento ajudar sempre que posso. E sim, como estamos na internet, provavelmente sou menos fantástico do que os meus perfis online (ou... talvez seja ainda melhor, porque ainda não consegui selecionar fotos bonitas :D haha).
De qualquer forma... Estou ansioso por Portugal e por uma nova experiência Workaway! :) Vemo-nos lá!

I'm actually a musician but I learn fast and if you show me how to do it I can do almost everything. In school as a kid I had craft subjects such as carpentry or gardening. That's already a while ago but I still love to help other people in their gardens or with any hands on activities!
