Hey everyone, I am a French Canadian solo travelling around Europe/West Asia for an undetermined amount of time, always seeking new experiences and friendships. Hope to bump into you one day:).

Beschreibung

Hi everyone:). I am a French Canadian that is taking a break from working in the Criminology field to travel the world and gain valuable lessons from fulfilling experiences; my last full time job was as a crime prevention consultant. I developed a passion for traveling after spending a few weeks in Europe (France, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, England) prior to COVID. Ever since then I try to get out of my home country as often as possible.

I recently spent 3 months solo traveling around Southeast Asia (April-June 2023). Other countries that I have visited in the past include Mexico, Cuba, and Guatemala. I am currently going on my 5th month of solo travelling in Europe! I started my European travels in September 2023.

This trip in Southeast Asia has opened my eyes even more to how enriching it is to exchange with people from different countries as a solo traveler. I love hearing about new cultures and languages. I also love learning new skills, though sometimes I don’t have enough time to get to it! I want to try a new way of traveling: cultural exchanges. And I know Workaway is a great place to do this.

I am open-minded, friendly, determined, outgoing, motivated, and always put 100% effort into whatever is asked of me. I have a university bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Psychology from a French Canadian university, for which I graduated at the top of my class in 2022.

With all that being said, I am never afraid of a little hard work, whether that is physically or mentally:).

My first language is French, however I am fluent in English, having grown up in a mainly English-speaking community.

I love sports, reading, health, videography, financial literacy, working on myself and learning new things and skills, working with children, and doing anything related to being outside.

My work/volunteer experience especially revolves around academia, customer service, working with kids, and being outside.

I grew up around cats, which I am very fond of.

I am truly looking forward to learning and exchanging with you:).

My mantra? Just go with it; everything will work itself out in the end. I have been embracing with opens arms everything that has come up on this trip, and will continue to do so, knowing I will learn from it all regardless of the situation.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have experience working with children for the past 8-9 years, whether as a daycare educator (1 year), tutor (8 years), substitute teacher (few months), summer camp leader (1 summer) and as a soccer coach (9 years). I have worked with children of all ages, both girls and boys. I can teach them new skills, play outside/games/sports with them, or even help them with their homework. As mentioned in my profile, I graduated at the top of my class in university, and I was a straight-A student in high school, which helps me tutor various subjects to children. Helping children and teaching are part of my passions.

I am fluent in French as it is my first language, so I can teach you some French if you would like. I can also do the same with English because I am fluently bilingual (I grew up with both languages).

I have experience with video editing; I have made around 10 video montages, mainly related to my travels. I have experience using Filmora and Adobe Premiere Pro.

I spent one summer painting houses and spent another summer picking blueberries so I have some experience doing that (i.e. physically-demanding outdoors work). I love being outside.

I have experience playing soccer at a university level and coaching kids at various levels. I also played other sports growing up, such as basketball, badminton, mini handball, and currently my focus is more on ultimate frisbee.

My last full-time adult job consisted of doing research in Criminology for the government. It was a job where I worked from home and had flexible hours. With that being said, I am a very organized and adaptable person that can work well with little to no supervision.
