Hello, I’m Samantha, you can call me Sam. I’m 24 years old and come from the beautiful state of Perak, Malaysia. Growing up in a multiracial and multicultural country, I am bilingual, fluent in Chinese, English and Cantonese, proficient in Malay, with basic Japanese and Korean.

I’m currently a master’s student in Shanghai, China. In summer 2024, I did two Workaway experiences in Switzerland and Italy, where I got to learn a lot through hands-on work and different cultures. In winter 2026, I also volunteered in South Korea. More recently, from March to May 2026, I did Workaway in Norway and Croatia and made some really great memories along the way.

Want to know more about me?
In 2020, I joined an exchange program in Amsterdam, where I spent nearly six months exploring Western culture, making international friends, and falling in love with the city. During that time, I also traveled across Europe, including Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Iceland, and England.

These experiences sparked my passion for cultural exchange and helped me become more confident and open-minded. I love meeting new people, sharing cultures, languages, stories, and even cooking together.

Currently, I’d be staying in Shanghai for quite a long time, and I’d love to find a buddy to chat with, travel, explore, and experience more of this beautiful country together.
