Hello! We’re Rhea and Adrien, a Belgian–French couple excited about the opportunity to join your project.
In 2026, we decided to travel across Asia not in the traditional way, but by immersing ourselves deeply in local cultures. We want more than simply visiting countries, we want to contribute, learn, connect with people, and grow through meaningful ecological and community-based projects.

About Rhea
My name is Rhea, I’m 26 years old. I was born in Brussels and I’m originally from the Philippines. I recently graduated as an architect from a Belgian university.
My first volunteering experience was in Sri Lanka at 18 years old, where I helped a family in their permaculture field. It opened my eyes to the power of nature when we allow it to flourish on its own.
During my architecture studies, I realized how essential ecological building is, so I began learning from craftsmen and craftswomen working with clay and natural materials. I took part in several participatory construction sites in Brussels, where we shared knowledge and worked with materials like clay, lime, stone, wood and bamboo.
Last October, I joined an eco-project in Greece where we built an open kitchen with clay counters, a natural stove, and a green roof. It gave me valuable hands-on experience, but I still consider myself a beginner—eager to learn more.
I’ve also taken theoretical and practical courses in permaculture, yet I know there is still so much to discover. Beyond the techniques, what inspires me most are the human connections created along the way. This is why I want to travel through Workaway.

About Adrien
Hi, I’m Adrien, 27 years old. I’m half French and half Senegalese, born and raised in France, but I’ve been living in Belgium for the past five years—where I met Rhea.
Before coming to Belgium, I spent a year in Senegal working with the YMCA in a small town. I supported children and local farmers to help improve their working conditions. Living there showed me that the comfort we have in Europe is not always essential; with a simple lifestyle, we can achieve so much more with much less.
Since then, I’ve known that I wanted to experience this way of living again—learning with my hands, discovering new cultures, and understanding the art, knowledge, and wisdom people carry.
I am still exploring my professional path. I’ve tried different fields—cinema, music, restaurant work, and more. I truly believe this journey will help me gain clarity about what I want to do and who I want to become.
