Hello! I'm Alex, a British-French 25 year old who's about to spend 5 months travelling South America! I love travelling and have been developing an interest in farming and working in nature in recent years! While I don't have a lot of experience in terms of manual work, I'm very eager to learn, especially anything related to permaculture. One of the reasons I'm doing this trip is actually to learn more about working with the land as I hope to one day start my own project in England :)

I've spent the last two years teaching French and Spanish in England and before that studied Philosophy at university. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with people who want to learn and having discussions with others about their philosophies of life! When I'm not working I like to spend my time reading, climbing, and socialising with friends and strangers! I'm also a lover of food, I love to try new things and enjoy cooking for others too!

I've been a teacher of French and Spanish for two years in England, teaching ages 11-15. While I'm used to teaching children I'd love to try help adults learn as well. I also speak fluent English so can help anyone who'd like to learn or improve their English. Finally, I've lived in England, France and Spain over my life so would love to provide a cultural exchange with any hosts who are interested; I think it is the most fun part of learning a new language!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

In terms of manual skills I am not very experienced as I have spent the last few years studying and teaching, but I am willing to get my hands dirty and learn on the job! I've spent some time in community gardens doing odd jobs like planting bulbs and seeds, sawing wood for raised beds, and even building an insect habitat (we called it Buggingham Palace!). While I might be rusty at first, I'm sure I will learn quickly as I have a lot of experience with taking on new tasks and adapting to them quickly.
I also have experience in teaching languages, so if you are looking to learn French, Spanish, or even English I'd be happy to help!
Finally I consider myself to be quite a good cook, and would be happy to help out in the kitchen when I can.

On top of what I have talked about in the rest of my profile, I also have a degree in Politics and Economics on top of philosophy and would be happy to share any of my knowledge if these are things you're interested in! I'm really interested in communal living so any experience you have on living with others in a harmonious way would be something I'd love to discuss with you. Finally I absolutely love nature, the outdoors, and hiking: If you're the same, let's go for a walk!
