A few things about me

I like to keep an open mind; a hands-on approach towards life and I have a deep love for plants and nature. I enjoy meeting new people from different cultures and integrating the new aspect in my life. My friends would describe me as a good listener and I always enjoy a good conversation, whether that’s a heart-to-heart or philosophical one.
I have a PhD in Plant Sciences and I have expertise in open-filed, greenhouse, soilless, and vertical farming horticulture. I have also been hosting people from all over the world in my shared apartment in Athens which fed my hunger for cultural exchange and in a weird way it was like “traveling from home”. I have been part of a vertical farming start-up which gave me insights about how to run a business and work with different people and manage different teams. After years of Academia, entrepreneurship, and a relatively stable life in Athens (Greece), I’ve realized that I can no longer post-pone my need for adventure and alternative lifestyles.

Why I’m Travelling?
I want to immerse myself in different farming techniques and crops. I want to explore sustainable farming, medicinal herbs and alternative lifestyles. My journey would ideally start in Japan, where I plan to participate in the rural life. This means that I need to experience different seasons and learn more about the day-to-day needs of different cultivation practices and also self-sustained living. Moving around Asia would help me learn more about medicinal herbs and traditional practices. The first step is the hardest but it needs to be done. After that, I’ll figure out how to continue this adventure. The vision is to travel to countries where herbal medicine and ethnobotany is strong. And ideally learn more about environmental rehabilitation and land reclamation.
My goal is to gather the necessary knowledge and relocate in Eressos (Lesvos, Greece) where I plan to create a space that combines my passions, and a tea-house.

I am in a relationship and it is possible that my girlfriend (Jasmine) will join my trip along the way!

A few things about Jasmine:
Jasmine is a cool person with lots of useful hobbies. She has been working is a busy Pharmacy in Athens and she also has been having cravings for rural life and slower pace of living. She is Egyptian-Greek and she could teach you English and Arabic! She plays the piano and she could provide piano lessons. She is also a make-up artist.

Farming & Gardening: I am an Agronomist by trade, I have expertise in horticulture, greenhouse farming, and plant care.
Business: I have been part of a vertical farming start-up for 5 years. I would be happy to help with the organization of a business if needed.
Handy Work: I am self-taught and could help in certain aspects of construction, repairs, and general maintenance.
Cooking & Cleaning: I have experience running an Airbnb and enjoy helping around the house.
Computer Skills: Tech-savvy and organized
Creativity: I enjoy drawing, music, photography, hiking, and writing.
