I’m a Software Engineer turned traveler. Having spent most of my adult life in front of a computer, I’m looking to reconnect with the world. I love learning through immersion, getting out there and meeting new people and seeing new places. Learning about new cultures, languages, and ways of working with my hands.

I find happiness in helping and sharing with others. I believe knowledge and skills should be shared and taught as much possible, and love getting to share what I know as much as I love learning.

While trying to reconnect with the world I’ve been especially interested in learning about plants and gardening, sustainable living and creative projects that help build communities and care for the earth. I’m aLao love learning languages and am interested in language exchange. As a software engineer I’ve worked on projects or have otherwise learned basic Chinese and Polish (reading only), French, and Japanese though my skills in those have faded from not being used. I’m currently teaching myself German and my native language is English.

Volunteering lets me trade comfort for connection; I believe in showing up, learning fast, and leaving things better than I found them. I’m tidy, dependable, and respectful of others’ space, but I love conversation and shared meals too.

At heart, I’m just trying to keep life simple. Work hard, live light, help wherever I land, and most importantly have fun doing it.

Over the years I’ve taught myself bits and pieces of several languages, though many have faded from disuse. I’m eager to travel, practice more, and rekindle that spark through real conversations. Teaching and learning languages feels like a bridge between people, and I’d love to help others cross it too.

I come from a background in software engineering, but I’ve always believed good work is universal—whether it’s digital or physical. I’m comfortable learning anything hands-on and take pride in doing a job well, no matter how small.

Technical & Digital Skills
• Website setup, troubleshooting, and basic graphic or content editing.
• Photography, and writing in clear, engaging English.
• Comfortable teaching or tutoring. From basic computer or English skills to just about any skill I know)

Practical & Manual Skills
• Gardening, painting, and basic DIY or repairs.
• Pet care (cats and dogs), cleaning, and general maintenance.
• Cooking simple vegetarian meals (though not strictly vegetarian) and helping in shared kitchens.

Personal Traits
• Reliable, respectful, and tidy.
• Quick learner, quiet worker, and attentive listener.
• Adaptable to new cultures, climates, and routines.

I enjoy work that’s varied and purposeful. Whether helping maintain a guesthouse, supporting a creative project, or contributing to eco-living initiatives. Above all, I value clear communication, mutual respect, and leaving a good impression behind.

I’m a fast learner and if I don’t have or know a skill, yet, I’m always eager to learn new things!

Was noch ...

I love all types of games: video games, board games, card games, and pen-and-paper games. I believe life should be fun. I enjoy hiking, bicycle riding, and writing (poetry and short stories, usually).

Currently looking for my next stop in Germany and my next travel destination, outside the Schengen area, in January!
