Beschreibung

We love experiencing new cultures, seeing how different people live and enjoying local foods and activities - especially outdoors whether it's a big trek, short hike, spending time with animals, kayaking, playing football or chilling at the beach.

In October 2025, we quit our jobs to embark on an exciting journey through South America, South Africa and Asia. Our main goals are to connect with nature, improve our Spanish language skills and become more knowledgeable about the cultures of new continents, which is an interest we shared before we even met.

We are loving our trip so far, and can't wait to continue the journey with volunteering work that will allow us to share our skills whilst learning from our hosts, meeting new people, and opening our minds to a different lifestyle.

Update: we had an incredible Workaway experience this year, spending 6 weeks on a small farm in Colombia. We helped our hosts grow their healthy food business with photography and social media marketing, looked after their dogs, and grew lots of herbs and vegetables on the farm. We're responsible, honest and hard working people and we took a lot of positive experiences from our Workaway, and now we're hoping to find more opportunities!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We both speak English and Spanish, and have good experience teaching English as a second language to Spanish students. We have both spent time teaching in Barcelona and Madrid.

Rhea has also taught in Colombia, worked as an au pair in Spain, and volunteered to work with dogs in a vetinary practice.

Rhea currently works as an accountant and Mike works in marketing/project management as well as being a chef previously (although we are now taking a career break)!

Mike still loves to cook and is familiar with teaching other chefs. His marketing knowledge spans all digital platforms including TikTok, Instagram and Google. He also worked as a football coach and a window cleaner in the family business when he was younger.

We're both physically fit and active and love a challenge. We really enjoy being 'hands on' with projects, problem solving and developing new skills. We believe that our best characteristics are our positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.

Was noch ...

We are currently on a 12 month trip after leaving our jobs in England. We started in Buenos Aires in October 2025 and have visited Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Colombia and Peru so far. We're planning to travel to South Africa, India, China, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, Phillippines, Thailand and Bali too.

We're trying to build a rich and varied itinerary for our trip, that includes the common traveller hotspots but also allows us to embrace local life, make new friendships and create memorable experiences in the amazing countries we plan to visit.
