Hi!
My name is Mia and I'm 20 years old. I was born in the south of Germany and have graduated from high school in July 2024. Since then, I've spent my time stretching my comfort zones - first with a work placement, then with 6 months travelling through Australia. I'm extremely grateful for all the experiences I got to make during this time, especially my 3 workaway stays. I've deeply enjoyed this way of travelling - getting to know local families, building a routine somewhere and seeing parts of a country that might be a bit more hidden.
Now, I'm back home volunteering at the hospital, but already planning travels in Europe from March to July 2026. Potential destinations right now are Sicily, England and Scandinavia :)
I am a person that loves being outdoors, as I have spent a great deal of my childhood camping or hiking. In the past years, I have also been very involved in working with horses and being out in the stables.
Additionally, I have developed a great love for music and apart from playing the flute, I enjoy trying to teach myself the ukulele, piano or guitar.
I love meeting new people and especially like communicating with children. I'm already beyond excited to get on the road again and discover some of the beautiful places of this earth.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

When it comes to working with children, my experiences started a few years ago when I began volunteering at our local church community. Since then, I have been working with teenagers around 12-14 years old.
Additionally, I did a 4-month-work placement in 2024 at an institution supporting children's rights and preserving the art of playing. Therefore I regularly work with children aged 3-12 and truly enjoy this often challenging, but incredibly rewarding work.
During my time in Australia, I had the pleasure to spend 3 months working with horses (feeding & watering, cleaning, grooming, exercising) and several weeks in two different families, which included work all around the house and garden - cooking, cleaning, clearing garden spaces, weeding, planting seedlings, taking care of the kids...
Right now, I am working in the psychiatric ward of our local hospital and therefore also used to working directly with people.
