Hi:) my name is Merle! I'm 19 years old and live in Germany. Before starting university, I decided to take a gap year to explore new places and connect with people from different cultures. I already used the time after graduation to travel around south Europe with friends on an Interrail trip, visit New York and Dublin, and also try new jobs such as working at a Christmas market. Now I'm longing for my next travel destination!

In my free time I love sports, especially gymnastics. I also train children in gymnastics and really enjoy helping them learn new skills and seeing their progress. In Addition I love playing the piano, dancing together and skiing in winter. My friends describe me as open minded, warm hearted and reliable. I love meeting new people and I'm always up for a new adventure!

I speak German and English fluently and I also have some basic knowledge of French and Spanish.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I already have experience in different kinds of jobs an enjoy helping with practical tasks and working with people.

Since 2022 I have been working as a cave guide at the Dechenhöhle in Germany, where I guide visitor groups and explain geological and historical facts. This job taught me to speak confidently in front of groups. Besides guiding, I also work at the ticket desk and host children’s birthday events, which allowed me to gain much experience in the tourism sector. During an internship at the Four Seasons Hotel Seilersee, I gained practical skills in housekeeping and customer service.

I also worked in customer service at the Dortmund Christmas Market, helping with sales , customer interactions an product presentation. Working in such a lively environment taught me how to stay friendly and organized even during busy times, and I really enjoyed interacting with visitors from different backgrounds.

I also have experience working with children. I coach kids in gymnastics and have supported younger students through tutoring. These experiences have taught me patience, creativity, and how to explain things in a simple and encouraging way. I truly enjoy working with children and creating a fun and supportive atmosphere for them.

I know how to do basic chores like cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc.
I am a quick learner and happy to help with tasks I haven't tried before!
