Beschreibung

Hey, my name is Meike, I am 43 years old and looking for new experiences – especially an intercultural exchange to make friends in the USA and improve my English. I am the mother of a teenager who is currently spending five months in Michigan (exchange student), and I would like to take this opportunity to travel for more than two weeks to USA, which has always been a dream of mine.

In Germany, I run an IT startup with a small team and have just completed a research project that I led for three years. I publish an accessible app that was originally developed for visually impaired and blind people and has now evolved into a nutrition app for everyone.( If you're interested, I'd be happy to tell you more about it! ;-) )So I can easily work as a digital nomad and only need 3-4 hours a day and Wi-Fi to work on my laptop.

I really enjoy being around children and animals and would love to bring my little dog, Panda, with me if possible (if not, she can stay at home with my partner and parents). She is really sweet and gets on well with everyone, including other dogs.

I'm a very active person: I love being outside, cycling, jogging, hiking, horse riding, visiting cities, museums, art galleries, little lanes and large viewing platforms... and I love cooking, baking and preparing meals (I'm afraid I'm not a star chef, but I can and love to prepare loving and delicious food).

I have a bachelor's degree in interior design and a master's degree in design and media, so I have a penchant for design, art, crafts, and, for several years now, digital design. I also enjoy working with my hands, whether it's on canvas, doing crafts, or working with wood. I can run a household and enjoy doing so, and I love designing cozy spaces and bringing structure and clarity to messy rooms.

I speak English at C1 level, but I always feel unsure about grammar and speaking freely. I want to improve my skills so that I feel confident and comfortable on stage when I give a presentation in English. So let's talk a LOT! :-D On the other hand, I really love the German language and would be happy to teach it to you if you like.

Was noch ...

I really enjoy being in a warm climate. I'm not the snow person but can easily stand 35 degrees outside (with access to water). I am a relaxed person, sometimes even funny (sometimes unintentionally), and I look forward to meeting loving people who broaden my horizons - and I theirs.
