Beschreibung

I'm Mat (Matthieu). I just turned 32 y.o this January and I come from France, the famous faraway land of "baguette" and the second-best country in rugby after New Zealand ;)
I’m lucky to be in Kiwi’s country, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, on a Working Holiday Visa until September 2025.

I already have 4 successful experiences through Helpx / Workaway! I'm seeking my next experience (or a paid employment) around Queenstown or Wanaka.
I can do few tasks in exchange like daily chores, pet sitting, cooking … and help with digital/computer things (because I worked few years for websites companies).
Unfortunately, at the moment I can only do light physical work the time to get better due to an ankle sprain.

(I twisted my ankle at Lake Harris while doing the Routeburn Track. At least the view was beautiful, and above all, I was lucky to have help and nothing serious!)

I would be very grateful for an opportunity and some help in this challenging period ^^

Every Kiwi I met told me that I have good English skills. I can definitely understand, speak and write English but I don't consider myself as fluent yet. Therefore, I would be delighted to progress alongside you.
As a French native speaker, I will be happy to teach you how to speak French or just few words to impress your family and friends :)

Like New Zealanders, I love nature, especially the mountains, animals, sports and enjoy good food and wine with a nice meal.
I came to NZ to discover the magnificent landscapes, work abroad, meet people from different cultures and have a good time!
I'm on Helpx to find nice places, experience cool things and meet and share good moments with great people :)

I grew up and lived the majority of my time in the middle of France, in a city called “Limoges" but I also studied 1 year abroad in the province of Quebec (Canada) and studied and worked in Bordeaux for more than 3 years. I love traveling and discovering new things. I had the chance to discover a glimpse of few countries but I'm eager to discover more!

Fun fact: I love taking pictures of wonderful landscapes, but I hate to be in pictures and see myself. That's why I don't have many photos of myself, but I will work on it.

During my previous wwoofing experiences, I've done various tasks:
- Taking care of pets, walking dogs
- Gardening, mowing, weeding, cuting branches
- Cleaning
- Lend a hand with various daily things

I’m energetic and eager to learn new things.
Working in a workshop and learning skills will be awesome!

I'm not a fancy Chef but and I'm eager to learn new recipes and share meal preparation with you :)

If needed, I can gladly share my experiences and skills in digital because my main experiences are in IT/Digital. In fact, after studying digital fields for 5 years in three different universities (including 1 year in Canada), I worked for more than 5 years in total for a worldwide market-leading company in IT & Management services provider and a French digital agency as a business analyst and a digital project manager.

However, I don't refuse manual work and I also worked as a:
- Ground agent in an airport
- Dock agent and handler (warehouse worker)
- Postman
- Administrative and technical agent

I love nature, especially the mountains and the ocean.
We can be hiking or skiing buddies if you wish :)

I love sports. I tried several when I was younger but the one I played the most was Tennis.
I also like to watch sports on TV or simply the highlights.

I love animals and I have a weakness for dogs.
