Beschreibung

Hey there!

We are Marie & Julia , two friends from southern Germany and Vienna who met on a Workaway in Ireland five years ago. Since then, we have shared many wonderful (Workaway) experiences together. It’s safe to say we make a great team and we can’t wait to help you out and start a new adventure sometime between August and early September 2026!

MARIE
I’m Marie, 24 years old, and I love spending time outdoors with the dog Tosca, horses, and my friends. At the moment I work in special needs education, supporting children with intellectual disabilities. In October I’ll be starting a social work program that combines studying with practical work at the youth welfare office. Before that, I’d love to spend some time on another Workaway adventure.

I have experience looking after children aged 8 months to 12 years, including neurodivergent kids, and I really enjoy spending time with them. Moreover, I am a nature and animal lover and an experienced rider. I’ve been involved in various parts of running a small riding holiday business, from preparing horses and leading rides to caring for children. I also like cooking and baking, and I’m happy to help with gardening or meal preparation :)


JULIA
I’m Julia, 23 years old, from Austria, with a big passion for nature and agriculture. I hold a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science, and I’m currently finishing my master’s degree in Vienna besides working in a local agricultural office . Before starting university, I took a gap year during which I completed five Workaways in Austria and three in Ireland. That year was one of the best times of my life, full of great experiences and amazing people.

I’ve mostly worked on family farms, helping with general farm tasks, childcare, housekeeping, gardening, cooking, feeding and caring for animals, and even small building and DIY projects. Friends describe me as someone who’s never too good to get her hands dirty and always willing to lend a hand. I’m easygoing, open-minded, and always happy to try new things while sharing my knowledge and experience.
In 2025, I did an exchange semester in Switzerland where I lived together with an Mexican guy - with him I could practise my Spanish skills well.

I prefer to eat vegetarian, but I am flexibel on this. I also enjoy gardening and growing my own vegetables, so I’m happy to share what I know. In my free time, I love being outdoors, whether it’s biking, hiking, climbing, or camping.


All in all, we are looking for a friendly host, preferably with animals and/or children, to experience everyday life. We are happy to help with any tasks and don’t mind getting our hands dirty or working outside, but it’s also important for us to have some time to explore the surroundings and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

(regarding languages: We both are fluent in german and english and Marie can speak a bit french and Julia spanish in A2/B1)
