Beschreibung
Hey, we are Karoline and Marie. We met during our gap year in Norway (at Nordvestlandet Folkehøgskole), where we worked with Icelandic horses and learned about the basics of natural horsemanship.

After this school year we decided that we didn't want our adventure to end here and so we started looking for an opportunity to travel together while still being able to do something with animals (especially horses). As our first workaway experience we would like something in Europe, but you never know what the future awaits after that.
We are very interested in learning about other cultures and acquiring new skills. Both of us are good English speakers, but together we also speak/understand a handful of other languages.
Of course we would like to introduce ourselves separately:
Karoline:
I am a 20 year old girl from Norway, and I am looking for workaway opportunities because I want to learn and experience new things. I love being with animals, painting, being outdoors, and meeting new people.
I have been riding horses since I was 7, starting off in a riding school, and having lease horses since age 11. I have been riding mainly Icelandic horses since i was 14. The highschool I went to at 16 and 17 was focused on horses and other barn animals. What I enjoy the most is just spending time with the horses and going on trail rides. I also have a drivers license, which I got when I was 18.
Marie:
I'm 18 years old and i am from Antwerp, Belgium. I graduated high school in June, 2024. Ever since, I've been looking for new experiences and opportunities to fill my gap year before i start my university studies.
I have always had a big love for animals, especially horses. I started riding when I was about 9 years old and have loved every second of it. I took my favourite hobby a little further when I went to Norway to work with horses for 10 months at a boarding school. I am also interested in a lot of other things, like history, biology, culture, being outdoors, baking, art and languages. My first language is Dutch, but i am also fluent in English. I can understand a great deal of French, German and Norwegian and I would love practicing these languages with anyone interested.

Horse experience:
Both of us are experiences riders in all gaits (this includes Icelandic gaits). During our year at Nordvestlandet Folkehøgskole together we learned about hoof care, social and physical needs of horses and the pressure and release method. We did round pen work and learned how to train young horses.
