Hi, I'm Darren!

I'm a dance and meditation teacher and writer, and for work I trade stocks professionally. I love workaway because it gives me a chance to learn language and culture through connection with unique and special people, and I get to do some incredible projects and work.

I'm very laid back, and mostly spend my free time writing, reading or dancing. I'm a huge dancer, I love almost all styles of dance, but my favorites are afro, bachata, salsa and zouk.

I write fiction and nonfiction, and love learning local history and mythology as well as discovering new foods and ways of doing things. Volunteering while traveling helps me develop a greater perspective of this very interesting world we live in as well as greater insight into myself.

I have several skills including being an excellent cook and teaching dance and meditation. I'm am a good photographer and have created several businesses and can assist with organization if needed. I am also a very quick learner and enthusiastic about learning whatever you may need help with or would like to share. I love working with animals and the Earth.

I will be in Brazil until June 2026 and hope to connect with some workaway hosts during my travels. Thanks for your interest, and hope to connect soon!

I'm a really, really good cook, either preparing an entire meal or helping. I'm also a dance teacher and photographer and would happily contribute either. I love learning new skills, and am a quick and eager learner. I also work as a meditation and awareness coach in case one enjoys those conversations and have worked with clients around the world.

One of the suggestions was board games and I love board games :) ... I'm an explorer though and enjoy learning more about this very interesting world we live in and look forward to connecting with people from different cultures.
