We’re a couple from the UK, Lyanne originally from Staffordshire & Sam from Bedford, we are currently volunteer in Aljezur in Portugal. We have both travelled independently living in places such as Canada, New Zealand, China and New York both, however we are bringing our shared passion & desire to travel and help others around world together. We come from backgrounds in business, creativity, and community-focused work, and we’re now taking a step towards a more intentional, experience-led way of living and working.

We’re driven by creating environments where people feel good, whether that’s through movement, music, food, or simply how a space is held.

Lyanne (who is writing this bio 😬) is motivated by bringing people together and creating experiences that help people reconnect to themselves and to others. Whether that’s through facilitating a session, organising a space, or shaping the overall atmosphere, she finds a lot of purpose in making things feel intentional and alive.

Sam finds his flow in more hands-on, grounded work, especially around food, cooking, and creating relaxed, social environments. He enjoys being in spaces where people can slow down, connect, and enjoy simple, well-done experiences.

We’ve chosen to travel and explore different environments because we want to experience new ways of living, learn from different cultures, and contribute to spaces that are built around community, creativity, and connection not just routine or convenience.

Together, what brings us the most happiness is being part of something that feels real, spaces with good energy, shared meals, meaningful conversations, and a sense of community. We’re at our best when we’re contributing to an environment, not just passing through it.

We’re particularly drawn to hosts who care about the experience they’re creating, whether that’s a retreat, a creative space, a surf camp, or a place centred around food, nature, animals or wellbeing. We value open communication, mutual respect, and environments where there’s a genuine exchange of energy, skills, and ideas.

We’re also both drawn to nature, movement, and exploring new places, and we value a balance between contributing, learning, and genuinely enjoying the experience.

We bring a combination of operations, guest experience, creative skills, and hands-on support, and we’re confident adapting to what each space needs.

Lyanne: Experience, operations & community
• Experienced in running and managing a business, including team leadership, scheduling, logistics, and day-to-day operations
• Skilled in facilitating group experiences (strength, yoga, movement, breathwork, community sessions) and creating inclusive, engaging environments
• Strong focus on guest experience and atmosphere, how a space feels, flows, and connects people
• Background in content creation, social media, and marketing, including storytelling and brand presence
• Proactive, organised, and comfortable taking initiative

Sam: Creative, practical & technical
• Multi-skilled across branding, design, and digital, including graphic design, web design, and building brand identity
• Experience in marketing, content creation, photography, and video
• Hands-on background including vineyard work, roofing/thatching, and practical outdoor tasks
• Strong in cooking and kitchen environments, creating relaxed, social food experiences
• Calm, adaptable, and great with people

Was noch ...

Outside of work, we both really value simple things done well good food, music, movement, wellness and time spent with interesting people.

We’re both quite active and enjoy anything that gets us moving, whether that’s strength training, yoga, surfing, or jiu-jitsu. We also love music and creating atmosphere, as a DJ & starting to produce creating sound , really sets the tone of a space ,

We enjoy social environments but we’re not chaotic, we’re just as happy having a shared meal, good conversation, or a slower evening as we are being part of something more energetic.

We’re naturally curious and like learning new skills, whether that’s something practical, creative, or cultural. We also enjoy exploring new places properly, getting to know the people, the rhythm, and what makes somewhere feel unique.

We’re easy to live with, respectful of shared spaces, and appreciate a balance between contributing, connecting, and having our own time to recharge.

We also love bringing people together, with a games night or through a shared meal, music, or creating small moments that make a place feel memorable.
