Beschreibung
Hi everyone! I’m from China and currently travelling around the world.
I studied Landscape Architecture at university and worked as a landscape architect in Beijing for two years after graduation. This experience helped me develop a deep appreciation for nature, plants and outdoor spaces. With my educational background, I’m also very interested in gardening, growing plants, and learning about sustainable agriculture and native plants.
After that, I moved to Shanghai to work in international trade for 3 years, where I was responsible for exporting Chinese metal products to customers around the world.
In July 2024, I decided to leave my full-time job to pursue my long-held dream of travelling around the world, experiencing different cultures and exploring different ways of life. So far, I’ve travelled to the UK, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Turkey.
Travelling has taught me to be independent, adaptable and open-minded. I love meeting people from different backgrounds and learning from their everyday lives and experiences.
I’m also passionate about drawing, especially sketching and pen-and-ink illustration. I love observing the little details of the world around me and capturing them on paper. Nature, plants, landscapes and everyday scenes are some of my favourite subjects to draw.
Horse riding is one of my greatest passions. I’ve been learning to ride and absolutely love spending time with horses. I’m eager to learn more about horse care, stable work and life on a farm. I love animals and genuinely enjoy looking after them.
I feel happiest when I’m surrounded by nature. I much prefer forests, mountains, farms and peaceful places to the hustle and bustle of city life. I’m looking forward to slowing down, learning from local people, spending time with animals and experiencing a more sustainable and meaningful way of life.
For me, Workaway is about much more than just finding a place to stay. I’m hoping to experience local life, learn practical skills, contribute to meaningful projects and become part of a community for a while.
I’m excited to meet new people, discover new things, share experiences and create wonderful memories together!
Working Hours and Work Preferences
I would ideally prefer to work around 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with 2 days off if possible. I am happy to start early in the morning, even at 6 am, as long as the working hours are arranged in advance and reasonably consistent.
I prefer to know the tasks and expectations at the beginning of the day. I work best when the host explains or demonstrates a task first, and then allows me to work independently at my own pace. I am happy to ask questions whenever I need help, and I appreciate feedback or corrections afterwards.
I am happy to receive instructions or learning new skills, but I feel more comfortable when I have some space and time to focus on my tasks.
I also appreciate having a clear distinction between working time and personal time, so I can enjoy the farm experience and have time to relax outside working hours.
I am happy to wash my own dishes after meals, but I would prefer not to have washing everyone’s dishes included as part of my regular volunteering duties. I am happy to help occasionally, but I would not like it to be a regular responsibility.
Meal Times
I prefer to have meals at regular times:
Breakfast: 9:00 am
Lunch: 12:00 pm
Dinner: 5:00-6:00 pm
I have a sensitive stomach, so maintaining regular meal times is important for me. If communal meals are expected to take place late in the evening or at irregular times, I’m afraid this may cause me stomach discomfort. I would appreciate having the flexibility to prepare and eat my meals at my usual times, rather than having to follow a shared meal schedule.
Dietary Requirements
I don’t eat seafood, added sugar, milk, cheese or other dairy products for the sake of my skin. I also avoid raw foods, cold foods and spicy food because of my sensitive stomach. I generally prefer warm meals. -
