We love hand-work such as arts and crafts or DIY projects. We love being around animals, especially cats, sharing and educating people about our culture, and being out in nature.

Beschreibung

We are a multi-cultural couple (Italian and American), living together in Italy, who is eager to explore new places while also helping out others. We both carry positive personalities into our work and hobbies and now we are keen to share our life experiences, travel the world, and spread some joy with those we will meet on our journeys.

Chris - I am an English teacher and lifelong language learner who enjoys meeting people from all over the globe. Naturally, I am a very curious person, so I like to explore new areas of knowledge by listening to podcasts discussing ancient history, scientific topics, anything that can capture my curiosity. Currently, I am living in my third country, Italy, after having lived for some time in the Czech Republic and Russia for studies or my career in teaching. A couple years back, I even started my own YouTube channel for spreading English lessons with the world just so I could help anyone who happens across video, plus I really love graphic design. I also love to relax by playing video games, creating digital scale models of objects in the universe, or enjoying music.

Lottie - I work in logistics and support for a pharmaceutical company while also completing a university degree in educational sciences.
For five years, I have been volunteering as an ambulance responder. My father sparked this passion in me years ago by retelling his stories from his service in the 70s and 80s. During my volunteer experience, I have met many people and experienced very strong emotions, which has helped me develop strong empathy and a desire to continue helping others.

In my free time, I enjoy fully expressing my creativity; my main activities are embroidery, sewing, drawing, and reading.

We are both enthusiastic about languages from around the world. We have both learned either English or Italian through school and self-study. Between us, we have also studied Czech, Russian, Korean, Slovak, Greek, Chinese, and we are very open to more. For teaching English, Chris has been a professional teacher for 3 years online and in-person, teaching anyone of all levels from 10 to 62 years old.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Chris - As a professional English teacher who teaches a wide range of ages and levels, I have a knack for being patient with people and helping them overcome their struggles in learning. I bring only a positive, fun, light attitude towards learning because if it is not fun, it will not feel meaningful. In my free time, I like learning extra skills for video and photo editing--I produce my own YouTube content, so I have some amateur experience in social media work. Life is full of puzzles, and solving them is something I take great joy in, which allows me to engage in my creative-thinking side. I also get excited to organize things, making spaces neat and clean.

Lottie - I have built good communication skills while working in a job that connects me to people of different nationalities. My job has helped me enhance my problem-solving skills and my creativity shines through in my artistic hobbies where I work a lot with my hands. During some of my work breaks, I used to teach my colleague how to crochet. I bring a supportive, positive attitude to to the table for anyone who wants to learn alongside me. Last year, I also began working more on my digital drawings, trying to develop my own comics.

Was noch ...

We are both into board games, such as Catan, Monopoly, chess, Codenames, Throw Throw Burrito, and some word games like Bananagrams or Scrabble. We also love puzzles like Rubik's Cubes, of which we have a variety of sizes. Astronomy is one fascinating topic that we can share with other people since Chris owns two telescopes and photographs the night sky, taking pictures of the planets, stars, and even galaxies.
