I love all things outdoors! I have experince guiding multi day sea kayaking, canyoneering, and backcounrty skiing expeditions and would love to go on an adventure with you!

I’m an experienced outdoor professional and long-term traveler who values meaningful connection, presence, and contributing positively to the places I stay.

Some of my most meaningful travel experiences have come from Japan, particularly while walking the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage. Time spent with local hosts, sharing meals, and settling into simple daily routines created a deep sense of trust and cultural exchange. Those experiences shaped how I approach travel now — showing up reliably, respecting local rhythms, and building genuine connections rather than just passing through.

Professionally, I’ve spent many years working in outdoor and operational roles that require responsibility, adaptability, and calm decision-making. I’ve worked as a backcountry ski guide, ski patroller, sea kayaking guide, and outdoor trip leader, often in remote environments where teamwork, safety, and clear communication matter.

Because of this background, I’m very comfortable helping with daily housekeeping, general maintenance, gardening, eco-projects, and hands-on DIY work. I also have experience supporting guests and handling basic tech or booking platforms when needed.

I’m easygoing, respectful of shared spaces, and comfortable with routine or physical work. I value simple living, good food, and shared experiences in nature.

For me, a Workaway exchange is about more than accommodation. It’s about contributing with care, learning from the people around me, and leaving a place better than I found it.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I bring a mix of hands-on practical skills, hospitality experience, and strong people skills developed through years of working in outdoor guiding, construction, and guest-facing roles.

On the practical side, I’ve worked professionally in residential construction and roofing, including asphalt shingle and metal installation, general labor, maintenance, and physical outdoor work. I’m comfortable with tools, gardening, repairs, cleaning, and helping improve a space over time. I take pride in doing work carefully and reliably, even when tasks are repetitive or physically demanding.

In hospitality and guest interaction, I’ve spent over a decade working with the public in high-responsibility roles. As a backcountry ski guide, ski patroller, and expedition guide, I regularly hosted guests, explained plans clearly, handled logistics, and ensured people felt welcome, safe, and cared for. I communicate well, stay calm under pressure, and adapt easily to new environments and teams.

I’m organized, respectful of shared spaces, and easy to work with. I show up on time, follow instructions, and also take initiative when needed. I’m happy working independently or as part of a group, and I enjoy contributing wherever I’m most useful — whether that’s maintenance, hosting, gardening, or general support.

I’m an active, easygoing person who enjoys simple routines and good company. In my free time I like surfing, swimming, yoga, and spending time outdoors. I enjoy playing cards and Settlers of Catan and am always happy to join a game.

I’m social and enjoy shared meals and conversation, but I also respect quiet time and shared spaces. I don’t need much to be happy — movement, laughter, and a relaxed environment go a long way.
