Hello, we are Lilli and Jana :)

We met on the train ride to our new University. Every morning, we have breakfast and drink coffee (Jana) and black tea (Lilli) - both with milk. We agreed, that we didn`t expected to find such a good friendship in our new city and are really happy about that.

Since I (Lilli) was unable to WorkAway in 2020 (through Corona), I experienced my first amazing WorkAway together with my boyfriend Bennet in Portugal 2023. Jana and I both love nature and hiking and decided to try WorkAway together in 2025.

Lilli:
I love creative things, working in the garden, drawing, woodwork or other things you can do yourself. Another passion of mine is science, especially biology. I finished my bachelor's degree in biotechnology in the summer of 2024 and also did a sustainability program. In Oktober 2024 I started my master course. I would consider myself to be a very independent, honest and dedicated person. Since 2020, I already live alone in a shared apartment and study and work a little on the side. I am very communicative and rather extroverted and work well alone or in a team. I also enjoy reading and drawing in my free time.

Jana:
I am a quiet but open-minded person who likes to explore new countries and meet new people. I completed my bachelor's degree in biotechnology in summer 2024. Before that, I completed a voluntary social year in a boarding school, where I helped pupils with tutoring and everyday life.
In my free time, I like to read and try my hand at painting and crocheting. I also like to bake and spend a lot of time outdoors - be it jogging, hiking, skiing or simply taking long walks in nature. One of my most memorable experiences was completing the West Highland Way, a multi-day hike through the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Lilli:
Gardening - in my shared apartment I take care of our garden and pay attention to diversity and plants for insects.

Crafts - two of my three school internships were in a carpentry and a theater (set design). In the carpentry I helped with the regular building of furniture and designed and constructed my own piece. For special tasks an instruction is needed, but then i can work independently.

Arts - painting walls, filigree work, sewing, drawing, painting - I am very enthusiastic about everything. In my spare time I draw a lot with pencils, aquarell or digitally and have designed a few stage sets for our small theater and illustrated three books for a friend of my family.

Social - I spent several years volunteering in our community working with children and youth and supporting various projects. My third internship was in a kindergarten.

Animals - My family had a big dog for 13 years and I rode horses for eleven years (Western and English) and had three riding and one grooming participation with I did a little bit of groundwork with. I have not ridden in a while now (since 2019) and have no knowledge of special horse training.

Sports - Athletics and Wing Tsun are my sports of choice, in my spare time I like to do Yoga and meditation (both for beginners). Since living in southern Germany, i trying to introduce hiking more in my holiday plans :).

Jana:
Gardening - Gardening is a part of my life - my family has a large garden where we grow tomatoes, peppers, lettuce and many other vegetables and herbs.

Arts & Crafts - I love to be creative and enjoy trying out different things, be it drawing, crocheting or experimenting with DIY projects, although unfortunately I still need help and instructions here.

Social -As part of my Voluntary Social Year (FSJ), I worked in a boarding school where I helped pupils with tutoring, supervised their homework and helped organize leisure activities. As I grew up with three siblings, there was never a dull moment and I often looked after my youngest brother, which gave me a lot of experience in childcare.

Animals - I have always enjoyed being around animals, especially rabbits, which I had as pets growing up. Although I couldn't have any other pets at home, I gained experience with dogs and cats through my relatives.

Sports -I love spending time outdoors - be it jogging, hiking, skiing or simply taking long walks in nature. One of my favorite experiences was completing the West Highland Way, a multi-day hike through the breathtaking Scottish countryside.

Was noch ...

For me (Lilli) I can say that I can organize well, listen to you or just talk a lot. I love nature, sunsets and blueberries and always want to discover new things! Jana says,that she is really excited about the opportunity to gain new experiences through Workaway and is looking forward to meeting great people!
