Beschreibung

My name is Leonie.
I am working as an art teacher in Gelsenkirchen, a city in the "Ruhrgebiet" and I can't wait to start my sabbatical in August 2024.
I am a curious and open minded person who loves to travel, explore nature and learn as much as I can about places, cultures and people (and of course food!).
That's why I travelled to Australia after I finishhed my A-levels and lived there for a year. During my stay I did many different jobs starting with various farm jobs as fruit picking and packing to house keeping, child care and working on fares and festivals. In Australia I also did WWOOfing for the first time and therefore was able to live and work with amazing people and to become part of their families and getting an unique view on their way of life. These experinces had a huge impact on me which still drives me to learn more about other people's lifes, traditions and homeland.
In 2014 I was fortunate enough to live with a single mother and her six year old son on Maui. Again it was a great time that I will never forget.
In 2018 I stayed with the most amazing family on earth in San Francisco. I got the chance to be part of their family business, teaching art classes and yoga. I've learned so much and am incredibly grateful for the time I could spent with them. We're still very close today and I was lucky enough to visit them just last year.

What else is there to know about me?
In my leisure time I play Handball, do yoga and spend some time bouldering.
I am an active person and love to do all sorts of sport as well as exploring nature. I love all kinds of adventures. Among my hobbies are also baking and cooking as I love to try new things.
Moreover, I am a vegetarian. I love animals.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

During my studies I aquired diverse insights and experience in teaching children of different ages and adults in art, English and German. I supervised a student art working group for three years and teach German to refugees for 2 years now.
While my travels I worked in a number of areas for instance different types of farmwork, child care, house keeping and waitressing.
I love any kind of crafting.
Besides, I am able to work on my own but also enjoy working in a team.
