Hello!

We are a French couple, Laurine and Arthur, both 27 years old. We signed up because we want to make the most of our summer vacation.

We’re outgoing, eager to help, and full of energy, and we’d love to learn about your culture while assisting you with your daily tasks.

We’re open to a variety of opportunities and are available for two weeks in August 2026.

Our skills:

Laurine: "I work as a communications manager at a carpentry company. Before that, I was the digital communications manager for the French Equestrian Federation. One of my most memorable experiences took place in New Zealand. I helped promote a campervan and van rental agency—it was an unforgettable experience! As for skills beyond communications, I love being outdoors, tending to plants, helping out around the house, and spending time with younger people. For me, sharing is what matters most!"

Arthur: "I’m a traveling maintenance technician for specialized machinery in France and across Europe. I handle the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these machines. Before that, I spent a year in Quebec working in maintenance at various sawmills. Beyond work, I love being outdoors, discovering new things, and being surrounded by people to share moments with. I’ve also played soccer since I was a kid, which has helped me develop a sense of teamwork, sharing, and mutual support. A day without a smile is a day wasted!

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Teach and coach soccer while ...)

What a wonderful adventure !

Arthur and I stayed with Weza’s family for two and a half weeks, and for our first volunteering experience, we could not have hoped for a better place. We had the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in Tanzanian culture, meet incredible people and share many special and unforgettable moments with the children at … read more the School.

A huge thank you to Weza for everything you have created. Through the school and your many projects in the community, you do so much to support the children and the people around you. You are truly inspiring! We also shared some wonderful moments with you outside the school.

To explain more about our experience:

- On weekday mornings, we helped at the school. We assisted the teachers with marking and correcting exercises, served breakfast and lunch to the children, played with them and created educational posters for the classrooms, realize activities, etc. The teachers are incredibly dedicated and do a remarkable job every day.
- We had breakfast and lunch at the school, while dinner was served at Weza’s home and lovingly prepared by Mamadi. Every meal was delicious, and we really enjoyed discovering traditional Tanzanian food!
- On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, after school and around 5pm, we could also go to the football academy to play with the children or create content for social media.
- Our afternoons and weekends were free. Weza was always happy to help us organise activities and put us in touch with the right people, whether we wanted to visit waterfalls, learn how coffee is made, go on safari or discover other local experiences.
- During our first week, there were five French volunteers. In the second week, we were also a group of five, with two English and three French volunteers. It was the perfect opportunity to meet new people, share experiences and enjoy some great moments together.

We believe it is important to arrive with an open mind and a genuine desire to discover Tanzanian customs and everyday life. Living with a local family gave us an authentic and immersive experience. Of course, daily life can sometimes include power cuts or temporary water shortages, but these are simply part of the local experience and were quickly outweighed by everything this adventure gave us.

The children’s smiles, energy and joy made every day special. This experience was incredibly rewarding and filled with meaningful exchanges, wonderful encounters with local people and other volunteers, beautiful landscapes and a wide variety of activities.

We leave with unforgettable memories and are deeply grateful to Weza, his family, the teachers, the children and everyone we met along the way. We wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway experience!
