Hi! I’m Kim, from beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

I’m passionate about travel, exploring new places, and connecting with people from all walks of life. I’m new to the Workaway community, but I bring a strong work ethic, a curious spirit, and a big heart. I’m eager to learn, contribute wherever I can, and experience daily life as a local.

Over the past decade, I’ve taken on a variety of home renovation and DIY projects around my own house, which has given me a solid foundation in hands-on work. In recent years, I’ve developed a love for gardening, and just last year, I added a cut flower garden to my yard. I’m fascinated by plants, flowers, and the interconnectedness of nature, and I’d love to expand my knowledge—especially in permaculture and sustainable growing practices. I truly enjoy getting my hands in the dirt and helping things grow.

I’m also a big fan of cooking, especially using fresh ingredients from the garden. I enjoy experimenting with different recipes, learning about local ingredients, and sharing meals.

My work background is diverse, and I believe that variety has made me adaptable and well-rounded. I’ve worked in office settings and have experience with computers and social media. I’ve volunteered on farms doing tasks like wood stacking, yard clean-up, and animal care. I’ve worked in a nursery caring for plants, and I’ve also spent years nannying children of all ages—a role I’ve always found rewarding and joyful! Most recently, I was the front-end manager of a fitness studio, where I also oversaw childcare.

Outside of work, I enjoy a healthy balance of staying active and taking time to recharge. I love nature walks, hikes, swimming, yoga, meditation, bike rides, reading, and creative projects. I'm always open to new adventures and ways of growing!

One more thing—I’m TEFL certified, so I’m also happy to help with English language learning where needed!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have worked in the hotel industry, in an office for many years and worked at a nursery. My last job was front desk and child care before I started my summer job hauling corn. I have a wide range of skills as I like to always try new things and always learn.

I am in good health and can do manual labour, I have also assisted in many reno projects and house upgrades. I enjoy working outside and can follow any tasks or directions as required.
