My biggest passion is teaching, and I have taught swimming, kickboxing, softball, and English over the years. Watching people work hard to overcome obstacles and realize their potential is what I aim for in my teaching and what motivates me most. Aside from teaching, I have a degree in theatre history and acting - I love to perform! I also enjoy swimming, hiking, salsa dancing, and meeting new people! I am always up for an adventure and love when I can share that experience with others!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

English Teaching:
I am TEFL certified and have experience teaching English. In the summers of 2018 and 2019, I taught English in Xi'an China to students ages 6-14. I provided vocabulary and grammar-based lessons in engaging and meaningful contexts that encouraged safe and fun learning.

Coaching:
I have coached and played a variety of sports. I have 8 years of experience teaching swimming lessons, 2 years of coaching softball, a year of coaching kickboxing. In these settings I created lesson plans, adapted classes to cater to students’ needs, regularly monitored student progress, and provided constructive feedback. I also have experience working with neurodiverse individuals. One of my swimming instructor jobs was with a company called Canucks Autism Network where I would teach water safety skills and swimming techniques to students with autism aged 6-16.

Construction:
For the past 3 years I have been working in construction for a semi-permanent theatre company. During the spring I build their main performance and communal spaces, and in the fall I help with tear down. I am familiar with most hand and power tools, good at problem solving, and enjoy swinging a sledgehammer!

Was noch ...

I love board games, sour candy, and puzzles. I draw, paint, dance, and listen to music in my free time. I would love a new book recommendation if you have one!

I also try to take home a postcard from all the places I travel to, and would love to have it signed by the people I work with and meet on my travels!
