Hi! I'm a 20 year old medicine student who just finished her third year and before starting my clinical rotations, I wanted to travel someplace fun. Before diving in the crazy hospital world, I want to do something completely different (preferably with horses, because I love them and miss being around them) and that's how I ended up here.

Some of my hobbies are baking, reading, crocheting, walking in nature, puzzling, survivalrun (which is a Dutch sport where you combine running with different obstacles) and horseriding.
I would describe myself as a kind person who loves to learn.

Since I moved out of my parents house I've gotten better at cooking. I'm definitely not a masterchef, but I know how to make some meals (I'm a vegetarian). I do LOVE baking and would say I'm very good at that.
I can lend a hand around the house. I don't have experience on farms, but I grew up on the countryside, so I have some (very) basic knowledge. I'm definitely eager to learn!
I've been riding horses since I was 10, until I was 18 (english riding). I unfortunately had to stop when I went to university, although my skills might be a bit rusted, I'm eager to relearn!

vom Host (Our little paradise in the ...) für Workawayer ()

Danken Well to our EatAway gourmet girl !!! ( Google says: Hartelijk dank!!)

Jytte was our 3. Workawayer in 2025, and stayed here for almost 2 weeks in the beginning of September.

What can we write here to cover one of the fineste WA experiences we have ever had? Lets get to the case!

Jytte came here at a time when there were a lot to do… read more in the garden ( WEADING!). The weather forecast said rain.... The whole time.. But luckely we had sun... The whole time! How lucky was that, with a lot of things to do outside.
Jyttes energy, willingness and enthusiasm were a pleasure to share. Combined, it all made the jobs easier and the time truly flew by.
Harvest time begins in August and goes on until the frost kicks in. Beetroots, beans, raspberries, squash, carrots, apples, herbs. It all gets funny in the fall. Cakes were baked to freez ( this girl is a superbaker!!) Beans and parsley was prepped to perfection for the freezer. The beetroots were taken care off. The garden weeded, the house cleaned... And this is a young woman who studies to become a doctor. So STRAIGT LINES FOR EVERY THING! She cleaned up so very nicely after every task was finished. Bathroom? Spotless! Kitchen? Spotless! Pretty sure you get the pickture by now. This is a person who likes order and things to be clean. WONDERFULL!
Jytte liked to learn some tricks in the kitchen, so Nynne took it upon her, to give all her best. Jytte is a big fan of Koldskål, so that was of course a dish to teach and pass on to the next dutch generation;-) With great succes! ( Hope your brothers will appreciate the work and love we poured into it, in the future!!) Jytte cooked a wonderfull Dhal for us all, one evening. Always said thankyou for whatever we did to make her stay as pleasent as possible.

Jytte as a person?
Ohhhh... She comes on a bit private at first. Senses the atmosphere... And then she kicks off!
We had so much fun together joking around and she acctually managed to make the absolutly FUNNIEST WA joke EVER ( and THAT is not easy in this household- very hard competition after 5 years w funny people stopping by!!!)
Soren: "Ohh, all this work will kill me"
Jytte:" Oh no it wont, I know CPR, I got you"
( THAT one will forever put a smile on our faces!)
We just loved having Jytte around . She`s such a lovely person , fitted in easily, very willing, trustworthy and hard working.
After the workday was finished, she enjoyed a walk/ run in the forrest. Some evenings we watched a movie/ tv-show together. But a lot of times Jytte just liked to sit w her phone/ E-book reader in the kitchen, in front of the fireplace.
Nynne had a lot of fun learning a bit of Dutch, maby not smooth, but... She`ll get it, just you wait and see my dear Jytte!

Should you be so lucky that Jytte contacts you, take her in!. You will not regret it. We warmly recommend this fine young woman!

Dearest Jytte. We wish you all the best for the future, you will become the greatest doctor! Hopefully you will find time to swing by us, when in Denmark. If not, we will join you, and the rest of your family, in Legoland:-) But, you will ALWAYS have a home and a open door here w us!

P.s. Okay, must admit, the bloodmoon was HIGHLY overrated- but how could I know?!!!! Thank good for koldskål after that!

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Our little paradise in the ...)

This was my very first workaway experience and I think this will also always be my favourite. I stayed with Nynne and Søren for almost two weeks at the beginning of September. They were super welcoming from the start and they made it really easy to get settled and really feel at home. They are so fun to talk to, energetic, kind, funny.
The farm… read more and surroundings are SO beautiful. Waking up each morning with a view of the rolling hills, the forest and the horses grazing in the field was a sight I could easily get used to. There even was the occasional deer around! I loved to end my afternoons with long walks or runs in the forest, there are so many beautiful paths to take.
My room was really cozy and just perfect for my stay.
I did lots of different things around the house and garden. There was a LOT of weeding to be done, but luckily it was sunny almost every day despite the bad weather predictions, so it hardly felt like a chore. I also harvested beetroots with Søren, cleaned some cabinets, harvested seeds, harvested beans and parsley and prepped them for the freezer. Whatever I did, they always made me feel like my work was appreciated.
The whole atmosphere was very relaxing– I never once felt rushed. Every day I could start up properly with a good breakfast, after which I started working, taking a break to eat a delicious lunch. The whole rhythm was perfect to really destress and recharge.
And the FOOD! At some point, this WorkAway turned into an EatAway, because the food really was the star of the show! Every single meal I had was simply amazing! From the omelettes in the morning, the sandwiches with egg salad for lunch and all the meals we had for dinner; it was all delicious. Nynne even made me love potatoes! I’m still dreaming about that pasta with chickpeas and kale… just so delicious. I could write a whole review just talking about how much I loved the food.
Nynne taught me to make homemade koldskål, which quickly turned into me eating it every single day (but I’m not complaining! It really is the best breakfast/lunch/dinner/dessert food). We also made some cakes together for the freezer (that tasted so good!).
I went to Aalborg on a free day. It was a fun and beautiful city to walk around for a few hours, luckily the weather was also really good.
The vibes around the house were just amazing and we laughed SO MUCH. Nynne and Søren are both hilariously funny and there was a lot of joking around. Even during our very disappointing bloodmoon hunt the car was filled with laughter.
Nynne and Søren, I will think of you often (probably every time I say doei doei) and I miss you guys and the sweet cats so much already!!
