Beschreibung

Hello, we are two French people : Julie and Quentin, a couple. We come from the most beautiful place in Normandy : Cherbourg (in the northwest of France). We know it's very far away. We are used to the rain, as we live in a city where four seasons occur on the same day, but not really summer. Cherbourg is close to the sea and offers beautiful landscapes.

We are two adventurers. We quit our jobs after eight years with the same company, yes, the same for both of us. We wanted new challenges : to discover the world and experience new things. We traveled for 11 months in Asia in 2024. We went to Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Japan, and Mongolia, where we did our first workaway. We worked for ten days on a farm with a family of six.

Quentin installed fences and looked after the sheep, and I milked the cows and prepared meals. We also spent a lot of time with the children. Through this experience, we learned a lot about their culture and traditions, even though we didn't speak the same language (they didn't speak English at all).

We had a wonderful 10-day stay with a family through Workaway in Waiheke in December, and we would love a second experience in New Zealand.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Julie :
I’m 31 years old. Since I’m 13, I'am used to babysitting, so I can play with children and take care of babies. I left my parent’s home during one year when I was 15 to play basketball. I am resourceful and independent.
This is why I left to go to Lille for my studies : I was in work-study at Decathlon. I worked more than 5 years in finance, I was an accountant (3 years work-study and 2 years full time). Then, always at Decathlon I was department manager (hiking, ski, surf and nature). I quit my job to travel alone in Europe, by train. It was an amazing experience.
When I came back I wanted a new experience, that’s why I worked in a restaurant at a ski station as a restaurant diver, to discover something new.
During Covid, I was able to help my parents: repaint the rooms, take care of the vegetable garden, cut the hedge... I love manuel works. I’m a person who can adapt. I love learning new things to do.
During the workaway in Mongolia I cooked for the family and every day, often twice a day I milked the cows.
