Hi friends!

My name is Josi (28), I’m from Germany , currently living in Hamburg on my way to becoming a psychotherapist for children. I’m a passionate volunteer traveller. I love hands-on work, being outdoors, and working with animals. Most of all, I deeply appreciate the experience of becoming part of a community far away from home.

I started traveling the world after high school and had a magical HelpX (a similar platform) experience in Australia. Since then, I’ve used HelpX and Workaway whenever I could. I’ve taught English to Nepalese children, supported a British family in Spain with homeschooling and childcare, I worked on a horse farm in the Netherlands, taking care of the garden. In Canada, I helped on a goat farm taking care of goats and chickens in minus 20 degrees. In Portugal, I supported a lovely family with their sheep and chickens and helped with various outside tasks.

I’m excited to see what the future holds, the wonderful people I’ll meet and the inspiring projects and visions I’ll have the chance to be part of and contribute to.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have various experiences in volunteering. In Australia I worked as a farmhand, helping in the garden, houshold, cooking, caring for animals and housesitting. In Nepal I taught English to primary school kids. I went to Spain and stayed with a lovely british family and helped with childcare of their three daughters. In Canada I supported a young family with animal and childcare. In my time in the netherlands I worked on a horse farm and helped with various gardening jobs.

I am a passionate cook with a love for yoga, meditation, and a deep appreciation for nature and animals. I enjoy spending time with children and value both meaningful conversations and peaceful moments of quiet with a good book.

My skills are broad and adaptable rather than narrowly specialized. I am eager to take on hands-on tasks, always ready to get involved, and deeply committed to continuous learning and personal growth.
