Hello, my name is Johann and I am 28 years old from Leipzig, Germany.
I recently finished my degree. After finishing my studies, I decided that this is the right moment in my life to gain experience abroad, meet new people and improve my English.
I would describe myself as an open-minded, optimistic and active person who enjoys being outdoors and staying physically active. I like to be part of daily life and I enjoy helping where help is needed.
I really enjoy being outdoors, going for walks and going for a run. During my school years I also did some manual work and I often helped my grandparents with gardening and small projects around the house. I always liked working with my hands and being outside.
Family is very important to me. I am already a proud uncle of three children and I love spending time with my nephews and my niece. I also have a very good connection with animals, especially dogs, and I always enjoy being around them.
At the moment my English is still quite basic, but I am very motivated to learn and improve it through everyday conversations and experiences.
For me, Workaway is a great opportunity to experience another culture, be part of a community and share daily life with people from different backgrounds. I am happy to help with different tasks, learn new skills and contribute wherever I can.
I am looking forward to meeting new people and sharing experiences together.

I would be happy to help others learn or practice German. At the same time I am very motivated to improve my English. I didn’t use English much in the past because I was often too shy to speak, but I really want to change that now and practice through daily conversations. I think language exchange is a great way to learn from each other.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I recently finished my degree in Business Psychology and worked in Recruiting and Talent Management at Porsche in Leipzig. In this role I conducted interviews and was responsible for recruiting and supporting young talents and students. Through this experience I learned how to work with people, communicate openly and be reliable in a team.
Besides my professional background, I also enjoy practical work very much. During my life I often helped with gardening and small projects around the house. I am comfortable using basic tools and enjoy tasks like gardening, painting, repairing small things, building or helping with outdoor work. Working outside and seeing the result of physical work gives me a lot of satisfaction.
I also enjoy keeping a clean and organized home. Growing up I often helped my parents with household tasks and I like to contribute to a friendly and tidy living environment. I also enjoy cooking and preparing meals together.
Family is very important to me. I have two nephews (10 and 3 years old) and a niece (13 years old) and I spend a lot of time with them playing, reading or doing activities together. Because of that I feel very comfortable around children.
I also have a very good connection with animals and enjoy being around dogs and cats. I don’t have much experience with farm animals yet, but I would be very happy to learn.
In my free time I am a very active person. I enjoy cycling, hiking and physical activity. I like starting the day early with a coffee and then getting things done.
My native language is German and I am very motivated to improve my English. I didn’t speak it much in the past because I lacked confidence, but now I really want to practice and learn through everyday conversations and experiences.
I am happy to help with different tasks, learn new skills and be a positive part of the daily life of my hosts.

Was noch ...

In my free time I enjoy being active outdoors. I like cycling, hiking and running, and I really enjoy spending time in nature. Being outside and moving helps me clear my mind and stay positive.
I like spending time with people, having conversations, playing games or simply enjoying a relaxed evening together. At the same time I also appreciate quiet moments to reflect or read.
