Hi, my name is Gaetan. I am nearly 30 years old and a Belgian eager to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the adventure that Canada has to offer.
This experience in Canada will be a first for me, as I’ve never traveled abroad alone for such an extended period.
My English is decent. I'm a better listener than a speaker (thanks US culture imperialism I guess ?). I still have a lot to learn and am motivated to practice in order to become fluent.

I am open to all kind of encounters, as long as there is a good mix of group activities and personal moments.
I consider myself as an open-minded and curious person.
This trip is an opportunity for me to discover a country and culture that are totally new to me as well as to get to know Canadians and learn about their way of life.
That’s why I am keen to engage with and integrate into the local community.

I am an art lover, particularly movies, series, photography, and music. I hold a master’s degree in audiovisual and video arts and hope to work in this field someday.
I love playing sports, especially soccer which I play in Belgium with an amateur team of friends. Additionally, I enjoy running and hiking.

I am passionate about nature and enjoy the idea of spending hours wandering through the forest. This is also part of the reasons I am excited to visit Canada.
As a true Belgian, I cannot deny that beer is one of my favorite drinks. I usually prefer tea over coffee when it comes to hot beverages.
Regarding food, I don’t follow a specific diet, but I do pay attention to what I eat, despite having a good appetite.

I plan to spend two to three months in Vancouver, with hopes of leaving for exploring the Rockies and Alberta region for the summer.
However, my plans are flexible and will depend on how I settle in Vancouver.
I’m eager to connect and embark on this adventure together.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

I want to improve my English skills with this trip. I'm not very comfortable speaking and I would love to become fluent. I need English to be able to work and feel confident in the audiovisual and art fields. My mother tongue is French. So if you want to learn or speak a bit French, I might be just the guy you need.
