Hello my name is Jacob. I’m currently staying with a friend in Frankfurt, but his brother & brother’s wife will be staying at his place for about a week, therefore I’m looking for a workaway in the region.
I’m American, but almost all of my forefathers are German, so I’m currently chasing down documents to see about claiming German citizenship by descent.

I’ve mostly been around India/Nepal since March 2022 and live about 6 months of the year in yoga monasteries. I'm perfectly comfortable being in silence all day, but I will listen or converse as normal. I don't play music outloud and rarely listen with headphones.
I generally eat simple vegetarian, but I don't care what others eat, and sometimes do eat meat if my body needs.

I’ve also lived 4 months in the Amazon rainforest and 8 months on a cottage in the Czech countryside.
I am completely comfortable and prefer to be surrounded by nature and doing outdoor & DIY work.

I have DIY experience with woodwork, electrical wiring, plumbing, and yardwork.
I’m skilled with power tools. If you give me proper tools, materials and a plan, I can build whatever you want.

I’ve taken a 3-week residential intensive on natural building—how to build with cob, straw, rammed earth, etc.

I grew up with 4 older sisters and my mother was militant about doing dishes and keeping my room clean. You won’t have to ask me twice to tidy up after myself.

I’m highly proactive. My mind sees problems and automatically searches for and initiates solutions.

I’m a software engineer by profession, but in the last few years I only work just enough to support my travels to & around India.

From my experiences in the wilderness, I am completely comfortable around almost all types of animals & insects including bees and spiders. Snakes can give me a jolt upon seeing it, but I can still stay relaxed and make calm decisions.
I love both cats and dogs, as long as we respect each other’s boundaries.

Finally, I’d prefer to stay at a place where I could collect, chop, and stack firewood. And hopefully where there’s a fireplace. I love being in front of the fire, especially when it’s cold outside.
Generally, I’m open to any opportunity which resonates with my profile.
