Beschreibung

My name is Jacopo and I am 24. I come from Florence, Italy and I attend university. I studied Philosophy and I'm currently studying Cognitive and Computational Linguistics (how our minds deal with language and how we can teach language to machines). I do believe this is interesting stuff, but I feel I am missing something.
I'm still not sure about how to live my life and I'm more and more skeptical towards the standard 9-to-17 office job our society seems based on. I want to spend time in nature, and not to be stuck in a car for hours just to get home from work; I want to learn practical and useful skills that give me the chance to be more indipendent and consume less, and not to be the ultraspecialized little gear of a huge mechanism, relying on others for all my needs.
I joined Workaway also for the people: I look forward to get to know new people over the surface, to give and recieve new inputs and interests. I believe I am an empathic person, and I really appreciate empathy in the others.
I play the guitar and I love hiking and climbing. I am really curious and precise and I have an iron will to learn :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I live on my own since a couple of years so I know how to keep a clean house and do some occasional fixing. I know how to use a drill and I already used a chainsaw. I can definitely help with chores, building or repairing tasks, and wood chopping.
I'm used to cats and dogs, and to the countryside. When I was younger (before the uni) I often helped my uncle and my aunt with their garden in Mugello (Tuscany). I don't have specific skills in looking after the garden but I do not fear to dirt my hands. I 'm fascinated by the idea of self-sufficiency and that's why I would love to learn more about permaculture and dedicate my energies to it.
As far as languages are concerned I can speak English quite fluently and I have a basic knowledge of German. Of course Itralian is my mother language.
I have my own car so I can be indipendent in movings and I can give rides. We can also use the car to move heavy stuff if needed: I have a cable and bars on top of the car.
Moreover, I can play the guitar for you in relax moments :)
