We are splitting up in September to travel down different raods. Mikenzie to Spain and Hunter to Scotland. Let's meet up!

Howdy folks! We are Hunter (they/them, 37) and Mikenzie (she/her, 39) *friends who are currently traveling apart*

We came to Europe from Portland, Oregon USA. Living in the Pacific Northwest has deepened our gratitude for the access to nature and solidified the importance of creating a strong, supportive community. As the political climate changes, we feel called to commit to what truly inspires us, what makes us thrive and that is connection to people and nature through travel. We plan to spend the next year traveling through the EU, UK and Balkans (and hopefully more!) to learn new skills, meet amazing people and expand our understanding of the world through the eyes of others, their history, and their culture. We have a shared passion for family, both blood and chosen, which is why we'd like to spend some of our time in the UK. Hunter has strong familial ties to Castle Glams in Scotland and Mikenzie has ancestry in England from both sides of her family. We are looking forward to investigating our origins more.

We are tender, easy-going queer people with big hearts. We love to cook, play games, laugh & joke, read good books in serenity, spend time with animals & adventure on the land. We create a sense of joy and warmth in any space we occupy and weave a warm togetherness that benefits all. It is vital for us that our queerness and Hunter's trans self are recognized as a true form of being and love. We excel in communication and accept kindhearted discussions, but we do not tolerate disrespect or homophobia of any kind.

We are very comfortable managing households independently as we have lived alone and in shared houses for 15 years. Hunter has their own house-cleaning business, is detail-oriented and efficient at finishing tasks. Mikenzie has over 10 years of live performance production management experience, is organized with a strong work ethic. We both have experience in childcare, land stewardship, and animal care-taking. In 2015, Hunter did work-away in Germany, and Mikenzie studied in London for 4 months in 2008. We are really looking forward to getting back to travel, which has been some of the best memories of our lives so far!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

One of Hunter's biggest passions and vast skill is party planning paired with community weaving. They bring the fun to any social situation with their lighthearted attitude. As a couple, we enjoy hosting and making sure our party goers are having a lovely time. We are skilled at amending soil, pulling weeds, planting starts and continuing the care of a garden. Mikenzie is scrappy, a jack-of all trades type who can figure out a way to fix any problem. She is an intuitive person, who uses her skills to communicate with animals very effectively. Her experience is mostly with training dogs, goats and pigs. We both love to cook and would love to cook with you! We also would love to learn old world crafts and customs.

We both speak English. Mikenzie speaks a little bit of ASL and a little Spanish, but wants to learn to be fluent in both.

Was noch ...

We love playing cards- we know several games and would love to teach you. We also love a very Portland game called vegan monopoly. We love bike riding, working out, swimming, reading under trees, pressing flowers. Hunter is a writer and wants to write a novel. Mikenzie does a lot of DIY home projects. She also is amazing at making breads, jams, sauces and quick pickles.
