Beschreibung

Our names are Hollin Solstice and Lleu Whittaker, we have grown up together on a family farm for the past 18 years. Although we are technically not brothers we have been brought up as if we are, as we have been home educated by our parents together we have created a strong bond and now we want to take our next chapter of our lives by traveling around the world.

About hollin
I have experience with looking after children where I volunteered at a summer camp which included helping them doing indoor climbing and outdoor craft activities, such as making a fire, cooking food on fire and making little shelters.

I have been studying performing arts from the age of 4 and just finished my level 3 diploma at Gateshead college and on top of that I have 4 LAMDA certificates (London academy of music and dramatic arts).

I have experience within a bar where I did glass collecting, taking food out, restocking, cleaning up after the chefs and general hospitality.

I have done some work for a local gardening company which involved looking after gardens by trimming hedges and clearing up the mess afterwards.

About Lleu- I have recently completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in BTEC Sport, which involved developing multiple skills. These skills include: an increase in confidence and understanding of tasks, as well as helping my communication when talking to employers, students or parents.

I was also a young leader within the scouting industry, this involved me helping younger students to develop their skills in certain areas of selected topics, for example, cooking, making fires, setting up tents, running their own activities and more.

I also have experience within hospitality due to having worked in a bar for 2 years. Which helped me gain experience on the bar and also customer communication.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As I have been brought up on this land I have done my fair share of heavy labour, helping with general farm activities such as...feeding sheep or the hens, chopping fire wood and helped a bit with my dad to build the extension to our house and then on the side of that I have worked in a bar as a glass collector so I do have some form of waitering skills and hospitality skills, I also volunteerd a few years back in the summer at a climbing wall to teach young kids how to climb and some wood craft activities on top of that.

Was noch ...

Our lives-
We are both used to heavy labour as we have lived on a piece of land our whole lives where our parents and others have been running their own organic, sustainable company for the past 30 years. The company specializes in a few jobs which are… NVC (Non violent communication) my mum (Beth) has been teaching this as a professional for a while and with just simply living with her Hollin has picked up some strategies for healthier ways to communicate with people around him.
Another job is general wood work, this is Lleu’s Dad Matt's specialty. He chops down trees but in a sustainable way and uses them for good use such as, making wooden objects like bowls and spoons, also using them for our own personal fire wood and using the sawmill to create planks. Along that we have both helped with chopping wood up for fire and done a bit of sawmilling to create planks.
Lleu’s mum Jo specialises within a few things which are… willow making, somatic therapy and yoga teaching.
There have been a few times where we have helped with sorting out the willow and when we were younger we would get taught how to make lots of different shapes and objects out of willow. Alongside that she has also been able to give useful information about how to look after our bodies through yoga.
Hollins dad (Wilf) specialises in permaculture teaching. Recently he has actually just finished writing a book all about it but he also works in the garden on the land where we grows lots of different types of vegetables and sells them locally on a weekly basis. We have also done some helping around within the garden. Hollins dad is also surprisingly in a punk band as a hobby and he has given him lots of support with that as he has some experience within the art industry.
