Taking a gap year and treading the unconventional path of self-discovery after quitting my Software job of 14 years in New Zealand to see what else is out there! I like slow travel, deep conversations, social work and working with children. In my downtime I like to journal, read, paint and my happy place is a cosy cafe.

Software Developmemt Manager by profession. So have people management skills, somewhat tech savvy.

Get on very well with kids because I feel I am often like one!

Bilingual and have had international exchange students live with us during our childhood so I think I have learnt to communicate with others who aren’t fluent, quite easily. I am Fluent in English (ethically Sri Lankan, my family moved to New Zealand when I was 7 years old and have lived there since).

I think I’m a good listener, patient and have been told I am calm? I think it helps when connecting with children.

I am not the best cook. And very self-conscious of cooking for others even though I can keep myself fed! Unfortunately not a skill my mum instilled in me! But very good at following instructions if there’s recipes.

A late diagnosed ADHD in my 30s. Means I love being creative and can often hyperfocus on topics of interest. Love trying new things and meaningful conversations.

That is all I can think of!

I love board games like Codenames, any card games. I love dancing and learning new types. I love psychology and any and all philosophical conversations!
