Beschreibung

Hey, we are Hanna and Tim. We have just finished our studies and now want to discover the world with our camper “Nobbi”. We decide quite spontaneously where to go next, but the rough plan is to drive north through Norway and then come back to Germany via Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.

Tim: I'm 28 years old and interested in learning more about craftsmanship and restoring buildings. In 2013/14, I did a voluntary service at a hacienda in Peru and got insights into lifestock farming, agriculture, beekeeping, woodworking and much more. Sustainability is very important to me. I’m a volunteer at Foodsharing where we save leftover food from being thrown away and have a vegetable and herb garden at home. I love being active in nature here in Norway. I’m looking forward to gaining new experiences, improving my craft skills and immersing myself in Norwegian culture.

Hanna: I’m 27 years old and passionate about almost everything regarding nature, animals and outdoor activities. I also love reading, sewing, knitting and playing basketball. I already did a voluntary service in Norway in 2014/15 and have finally gotten the chance to return to this beautiful country. In my project, I worked with people with different disabilities. In addition to that, we also had different workshops such as a weavery, juicery, plant nursery and bakery, where I was able to gain skills in manual work. There was also a strong emphasis on sustainability and regionality, which is also very important to me in my everyday life. In my childhood I spent a lot of time with horses, so I have knowledge in working in the stables, working with horses and am used to working outdoors in all kinds of weather. I’m always excited to learn new things and can therefore be enthusiastic about most kinds of workaway stays as long as the chemistry is right and there is the possibility to spend a lot of time outside.

At home, we have already implemented many DIY projects in the house and garden and are very happy to learn more in this field. We have also done some mechanical work on our motorhome and extended the electrics, whereby our studies in mechanical and electrical engineering have helped us. Often, we had to limit ourselves to the components that were available at the time, so we know how to help ourselves creatively. During our travels, we like to experience the countries and their culture instead of just visiting them. Therefore, we are happy to get in touch with locals through Workaway and return something through our work for the hospitality we receive. We are sure that we can all benefit a lot from the exchange and learn a lot from each other. We are very much looking forward to meeting you! :)

German is our mothertongue and we're both fluent in English. Hanna has gained good skills in Norwegian during her voluntary service and would love more practice with locals. We have also some skills in French/Spanish which could be improved :)

Tim is a boardgame geek (Top 5: Gloomhaven, Terra Mystica, Terraforming Mars, Twilight Imperium, Up and Down).
