Beschreibung

Hello everybody!
My name is Pia, some of my friends also call me Pipi, 23 years old from Leipzig, Germany. I discovered workaway when I was 19 and am travelling on off since! After my graduation in occupational therapy in summer 2024 I started travelling more to gain experience in different settings and work fields. I’m very interested in learning more about dogs and bees, improve my building skills and maybe learn how to sail!
Nonetheless my real passion is working with people and help develop projects I believe in. I bring new ideas, show initiative and would like to do more in crowdfunding too.

Some of my former working experiences: I worked nearly a year in a special school for kids with difficulties in social and emotional development. I also participated in a project in which we created a theater play with teenagers with mental disabilities. As part of my job education I worked in different institutions like practices, clinics and workstations for disabled people. Furthermore, I'm volunteering in an autonomous non-profit social club which organizes punk rock concerts, social kitchen and providing our house for different groups and projects. I'm mostly at the bar or in the organization (I organized concerts, speed friending, creative evening and pub quizzes).

Moreover, I grew up with many animals, such as cats, dogs, geese, rabbits and many more. Since I was 17, I used to manage the whole household by my own. My brother helped me with the garden. He is a farmer and has taught me some things about plants and animals.
I already did some different workaways such as childcare, living in a community, working in an NGO & doing small hand craft works.

Something’s about myself: over the course of my travels I got the chance getting to know me better. I’m very social but my alone time is also crucial to me. I like being active: playing games (Cambio, Backgammon, Durak) , doing sports (Volleyball, weight lifting and fitness), being creative (making music, writing, recording little films), but also appreciate quite moments like reading a good book, drinking nice tea and listening to some piano music.

Why I am doing workaway for such a long time?
I love this possibility to push my limits by going in a completely new environment, getting to know new friends as well as learning useful skills.
