Hey there!

My name is Gillian, I'm 30, from New York but currently live in Australia! In 2015 I graduated from college with my childhood education degree, but wasn’t ready to start my career. I decided to start traveling to experience other parts of the world. First I moved to Melbourne, Australia where I was an au pair for eight months. When that was over, I went to go work in the hostel, Nomads. There I worked at reception and as a bartender. Over the next few years I continued to travel other parts of Australia, Europe, The United Kingdom, and Costa Rica. This past summer I’ve completed my biggest backpacking experience around The UK and Europe. I traveled to 36 locations in 90 days! Traveling, adventure, and working with children are my passions.

I am open-minded, organised, clean, and energetic!
I am very reliable, motivated, and responsible.
I am a happy person who loves to laugh. Each day is a new adventure waiting to begin.
In my free time I enjoy exploring the nearby area I am in. I like finding new restaurants to eat at or activities to do. I love being in nature, so being outside and going on adventures is big for me! My happy place is the beach, it’s beauty will never cease to amaze me. My new adventure I want to explore is being apart of the different farming communities so I can learn to live with the land sustainably. My dream is to create a beautiful sanctuary of my own someday!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Since my passion is traveling I’m always meeting new faces so it’s very easy for me to get along with people! Almost all my jobs were in customer service. Every time I go back home to New York my restaurant hires me back as their bartender or waitress. When I was in college I worked at the YMCA with children and adults who have special needs. I was also a human resources manager at Calvin Klein for six months before moving to Australia. There I was an au pair. I was responsible for taking care of 3 children five days a week, along with cooking and housekeeping duties. I’ve worked in two different hostels as well, where I took on different roles as the manager, at reception and the housekeeper.
No matter what my job is I take pride in it. I make sure the job is done and always perform the tasks to the best of my abilities !

Was noch ...

The world is beautiful place that has so much to offer and learn from. With all the beaches, flowers, sunsets, mountains, there are so many hidden gems waiting to be found! Traveling also allows me learn about the different cultures! I get to explore their traditions, ways of living, foods they eat, and ways they spend their leisure time. I am a very friendly and outgoing person. I truly love doing new things and having fun. I believe that life is meant to be joyful and lived to the fullest!
