We are an outgoing and friendly young couple (both 18 years old) from the UK who have just finished school and are hoping to do some travelling before we go to university!
We’re travelling to Austria because we love experiencing how other people live, especially in rural areas. We’re really excited to learn more about regenerative farming and country life.
I, George, love anything hands-on and outdoors. I'm great with repairs, building, and practical jobs, and I have a really friendly, easy-going energy. I have always wanted to be a farmer here in the UK but not being from a farming background means that I am very eager to get as much experience in working on farms abroad.
Edie (my partner) is happiest when she’s around animals (especially horses) and loves having a busy, organised routine. She hopes to study landscape architecture with a focus on tackling climate change, so spending time on a regenerative, environmentally friendly farm is something she’s genuinely excited about. She also loves cooking and regularly cooks for her family, so would be excited to cook meals for hosts and guests. She’s very caring and creative, and she gets a lot of joy out of looking after people and animals alike.
Neither of us has visited Austria before, so we’re looking forward to discovering the culture, enjoying the snowy landscapes, and getting involved in everyday life. We work well as a team, enjoy keeping busy, and really value hosts who are warm, welcoming, and have a good sense of humour. With our different strengths, we can turn our hands to many tasks, and we’re both curious, motivated, and keen to learn as much as possible.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Edie is a great communicator and people person, she is currently working in retail on her gap year to earn money for travelling. She also has a vast amount of experience in many other activities from horse riding to wiring electronics, throughout her childhood she has learnt many of her skills though professional tuition including cookery lessons. Edie achieved super grades in her creative qualifications which is testament to her skills and talent for anything creative. She is a very quick learner and will give 100% to any new task given to her.

George has spent the last four years working on the local farm, gaining invaluable experience and skills surrounding machines and fabrication. He enjoys maintaining and operating machinery however George particularly loves making big repairs and projects he can really get his teeth into. In his spare time George plays lots of sport and is often in the gym, manual labour is a great excuse for him to get his arms out!

As a couple we really work well together and we have a light-hearted, fun outlook on life!
