Hi Guys!

Emer and Eoghan (Owen) here, an adventurous couple who love to travel, hike, camp, read and garden. We also like to experiment with cooking, brewing and wine making using alternative fruits and berries, and spending time in nature. We both consider ourselves as lifelong learners with a passion for learning new skills and ideas.

In terms of other hobbies, Eoghan plays in a band with his mates, and loves composing, producing, mixing and performing with them, while Emer likes to work creatively with stained glass.

We're both Irish, and have been working as a Primary School Teacher for over 7 years. We've taught in Ireland, Abu Dhabi and now Australia. We moved to Australia in August and our goal is to pursue some of our interests and hobbies further, while allowing us to see as much of Australia as possible. We're moving home after our wedding in July 2024 to build our home in the countryside. We're both looking forward to learning some skills on our travels, particularly growing our own fruit and veg and how to preserve them, as well as permaculture and living more self-sufficiently.

We've never used workaway before, and we're excited to get to explore some different areas, work and meet some new people along the way.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Emer:
Having grown up on a hobby farm and forest, I am well used to hard work. At home there was always something to be done, be it painting, fencing, gardening. I know that a helping hand goes a long way. My Mum is a horticulturist and landscaper so I have worked many summers helping her out in different gardens. Although I do not have all her amazing knowledge, I have picked up some bits along the way.
I am very interested in learning new things and developing my skills. I am a primary school teacher by trade, but am always aiming to expand my horizons.

Eoghan:
I have a Bachelor of Education Degree in Primary School Teaching with music, and have been teaching for over 7 years through the medium of both Gaeilge and English. I have experience with gardening and also helping out Emer's parents on their farm with odd jobs and forest management. I'm proficient in protools music editing software and I perform in a band with my friends. I've composed. produced, engineered and performed with the band over the years. I have a good grasp on brewing beer and making wine and love to push the boundaries when it comes to experimenting with flavours, sometimes the results can be ... interesting. I like to collaborate with people when partaking in new things, like when I welded a steel frame for a stain-glass sculpture that Emer designed, I asked Emer's dad, Gerry, for some help and guidance.
