I have a background in language studies, literature, and international politics. I have lived, worked and studied in several countries across two continents (Italy, the UK, Japan, Poland), and I constantly crave to explore new surroundings and connect with local cultures.

I am a pragmatic individual that thrives on approaching issues and tasks head-on. I can bring good cooking skills to potential hosts alongside a proactive attitude in taking care of spaces. I am a self-taught guitarist, and could teach some basics or play along with you. I also have prior experience with volunteering at a Tibetan Buddhist centre in the UK, where I provided help in cooking, carpentry, gardening, and event coordination.

I am curious and open-minded about almost anything, and love to bring good vibes to others. Looking forward to my next adventure here on Workaway!

Edoardo spent a pretty intensive July with us and was a truly valuable part of our team.
He is an incredibly active and positive person. In our bar he was always ready to help, full of energy, and he surprised us with his knowledge about drinks — he even presented some very interesting drinks with a long history behind them.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Bar for artists inviting you ...)

Working at Viola's bar in Koszalin has been my first Workaway experience, and it is without doubt something that I will be cherishing fondly.

I have stayed at her flat in the city centre (literally few steps away from the bar), and the … read more pantry was furnished with all the necessities for daily life, from great organic vegetables from her garden to freshly ground coffee to start the day with an energy kick. She had so many stories to tell about her life and travels, and we often discussed new ideas for the bar over a glass of wine or beer.

Behind the counter, I was in charge of serving drinks, taking orders, and chatting with customers that wanted to share something about their life. After I manifested my interest in cooking, Viola let me prepare meals for some food-themed language exchange sessions. Those were really great moments where me and people from all over the world could share interesting stories in a cheerful atmosphere. Working hours depended on how busy it would get, but I never felt to have spent too much time working. The bar is a quirky place and attracts guests with very different backgrounds, so expect no dull moments when you are working there!

Koszalin is a town that is comfortable to walk through on foot (I absolutely recommend a stroll around the huge public park). The Friday farmer’s market is really worth visiting, and is a less than a 5 minutes walk from the flat. Also, from Koszalin you can easily reach the seaside on a short train ride. Mielno is a nearby popular resort town in Poland, worth visiting but maybe too touristy. If you want to see a more authentic side of the nearby coast, Viola can suggest great sightseeing spots.

Thank you very much Viola for the lovely hospitality and the energy you put into everyday life. I will never forget our chats, my time at the bar and the amazing lunch and tour at your splendid house in the countryside. Thanks also to Ewa, who at the bar was always happy to prepare a fantastic pizza for me, and to Jola for being a really dynamic member of the kitchen team. Last but not least, thank you to all the people that I met and exchanged life stories with, you rendered my stay in Koszalin unique and made me feel part of the local community.
