Help building a home while enjoying the sun, some good food and lovely company. That would pretty much sum up a perfect day for me. :)

Beschreibung

My first Workaway adventure was in March 2023 and it ended up changing my life. Since then I have quit my full-time job as an academic teacher and started working as a freelancer which gives me the opportunity to work a lot in the Summer and a little less in the Winter, leaving time to travel and volunteer as a Workawayer.

I love being in company, but am also perfectly happy on my own. A routine where there is room for both, is my ideal situation. To a Workaway-project I bring a lot of enthusiasm, flexibility and dedication in the things I do and I am there to help out when it is needed.

DIY and construction are things that I really like to do and learn more about. Thinking about how to go about it and, of course, working with power tools.

Also, tidying, organizing and doing laundry are things that I love to do, as well as cooking. It’s like my little zen-world. :) Working for a family and looking after their kids is also a very fulfilling and special way of contributing, I found.

Next to that, I looked after a few places and their pets while the people left on holiday. Both house and pets are in safe hands with me. :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I like working in a team of like-minded people and learning new skills. For me, organising and planning come as a second nature. I take initiative and think fast. Which also means that I like to voice my ideas or suggestions and ask a lot of questions to understand the process and choices made (always in a respectful and constructive way). My hands are never idle. Don't like doing dishes, but love to do laundry and tidying up.

Was noch ...

My guilty pleasures are country music, Agatha Christie books and fish fingers. Apparently I have no real talent for sports or anything else that requires a competitive nature. I love a picknick and my dream is to build a treehouse.
