I'm passionate about social change – particularly interested in initiatives which explore more sustainable and interconnected ways of being. I'm a deeply curious person. I decided to join Workaway primarily to meet spiritually like-minded people with different backgrounds and experiences whilst lending my labour to something productive – something greater than myself. In summary, I wish to discover opportunities for cultivating strong connections to nature and to others :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

First and foremost I'm a researcher – I have a PhD in social design. My work explores alternative modes of being which challenge traditional–capitalist ways of thinking/acting. Practices such as fostering communities/facilitating dialogue/developing social systems are practical features of my work. Although for my day job I work as a strategy and process manager for a fire safety organisation in the construction industry in the UK. I'd say my main 'skill' which tracks across these different vocations is my ability to listen, and work with what I hear and observe in the people I work with. In terms of more technical/tangible skills I'm physically strong and healthy, I have experience with power tools and basic construction techniques (cementing/carpentry/mechanical servicing/plastering/painting etc). I'm eager to learn and apply myself in any way that is useful to the programme that I apply for.

Was noch ...

I enjoy the gym. I regularly hike and wildcamp. I enjoy water-based activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking. I know a few decent card games. I practice meditation regularly. I enjoy reading and deeper conversation. I'm a competent individual in the sense that I can clean and cook/embrace responsibility in a community environment.
