Hi, I'm Änna, 27 years old, and I'm almost done with my social work degree. Starting in November, I'll finally be in Guatemala, which I've been looking forward to for a long time – yay. I like volcanoes, mountains, red wine, cheese, music, yoga, brown bears (at least in photos and videos, haha), and I like to start my day with coffee and sunshine on my face. I really enjoy hiking adventures, especially with other people. The diverse and beautiful nature of Latin America captured my heart several years ago. Since I love dancing, I am very excited to get to know the dance world of Guatemala. I am here in search of diverse experiences and encounters. Community is important to me, but I’m comfortable with both – lively times and calm ones. I’m really looking forward to exploring Guatemala and getting to know you!

Hola, soy Änna, tengo 27 años y estoy a punto de terminar mi carrera en trabajo social. A partir de noviembre, por fin estaré en Guatemala, algo que he estado esperando con mucha ilusión – ¡yay! Me gustan los volcanes, las montañas, el vino tinto, el queso, la música, el yoga y los osos (al menos en fotos y vídeos, jeje) y me encanta empezar el día con café y el sol en la cara. Disfruto mucho de las aventuras de senderismo, especialmente con otras personas. La diversidad y la belleza de la naturaleza de América Latina conquistaron mi corazón hace varios años. Como me encanta bailar, estoy muy emocionada por conocer el mundo del baile en Guatemala. Estoy aquí en busca de experiencias y encuentros diversos. La comunidad es importante para mí, pero me siento cómoda tanto en momentos animados como tranquilos. ¡Tengo muchísimas ganas de descubrir Guatemala y de conocerlos!

Languages are an important part of cultural exchange for me. There is always more to learn, which is why I always welcome opportunities to improve my Spanish and English, expand my French and Portuguese, or even learn a completely new language. I would also be glad to teach my native language, German, or at least support others in learning English or Spanish. --- Los idiomas son una parte importante del intercambio cultural para mí. Siempre hay más que aprender, por lo que agradezco cualquier oportunidad de mejorar mi español e inglés, ampliar mis conocimientos de francés y portugués, o incluso aprender un idioma completamente nuevo. También me encantaría enseñar mi lengua materna, el alemán, o al menos apoyar a otros en aprender inglés o español.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I would describe myself as someone who is both flexible and patient, and who can easily adapt to new situations and people with different needs. The social field feels like home to me. I have already spent a lot of time with people with special needs, for example in a kindergarten and after-school program in Peru, at a dance school for people with disabilities in Spain, or in a residential group for young people with difficult family circumstances or a refugee background. In addition to providing support in everyday life, I am also very interested in creative exchange in the areas of movement, dance, and music. I like cooking with others and sometimes I have small knitting or knotting projects on the go. I'm interested in gardening and crafts – I don't have much experience in that yet, but I’d love to change that.

Me describiría como una persona flexible y paciente, capaz de adaptarme fácilmente a nuevas situaciones y a personas con diferentes necesidades. El ámbito social es como un hogar para mí. Ya he pasado mucho tiempo con personas con necesidades especiales, por ejemplo, en un jardín de niños y un programa extraescolar en Perú, en una escuela de danza para personas con discapacidad en España o en un grupo residencial para jóvenes con circunstancias familiares difíciles y refugiados menores de edad no acampañados. Además de brindar apoyo en la vida cotidiana, también me interesa mucho el intercambio creativo en las áreas del movimiento, la danza y la música. Me gusta cocinar con otras personas, y a veces tengo pequeños proyectos de tejido entre manos. Me interesan la jardinería y las manualidades; aún no tengo mucha experiencia en eso, ¡pero me encantaría cambiarlo!
