Beschreibung

Hi, I'm Andreea and I joined the Workaway community because now I travel long term discovering new continents, ways of thinking, living, feeling and experiencing life, getting to know other people, cultures, communities and learn more about myself and life itself.

I love nature and its wonders and feel at home in the countryside. I grew up in the countryside helping my parents with the usual housework, from cleaning and various repairs to gardening and raising animals. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.

I see volunteering as a way of contributing, learning and sharing.
Back in my home town I tried to make myself useful to the society and volunteered in local organisations to do plant trees, clean the river beds of a river, restore a friend’s wooden cabin, help elderly neighbours with gardening, babysitting with my friends children.
After walking Camino de Santiago and after having an amazing pilgrim experience I decided to give back and volunteered in an albergue. My work there consisted of cleaning, gardening, helping around the kitchen and cooking vegetarian food. I loved cooking there because it fitted my style: improvising and making use of what was available in the season, fresh organic vegetables, spices, beans, local herbs and lots of joy.
While traveling I found it easy to find places to volunteer connecting with other travellers and ended up volunteering in fincas and hostels sharing experiences with beautiful people that inspired me.

Cooking
The people that run the albergue where I volunteered on Camino de Santiago they asked me to come back the next season and work for them in the kitchen, cooking vegetarian meals for 10 to 30 people every night.
I can do gardening, housekeeping, reception work.
I know a few macrame techniques to build adornments.
I am flexible to learn new skills as well.
