We are María & Alejandro, a dynamic, responsible and experienced Spanish couple in our 60´s, reinventing ourselves and bringing more love to our lives and the planet willing to enjoy our first adventure as Workawayers. We love hiking, biking, swimming, nature, cultural & artistic events.

María, 64, was born in Valencia, in a rural area surrounded by countryside, animals, and freedom. An administrative assistant, she is currently a Biodanza facilitator, a coach/personal trainer for “Libre de Amar / Free to Love”. She is very creative in all areas of team development and leadership. Maria has also plenty of experience co-organising and participating in numerous retreats and workshops (yoga, biodanza, self-development, spiritual,…) in amazing rural houses, B&B and small hotels in Ibiza, Valencia, Alicante. Her dream is to have a rural house to create a special space " The Angel Garden".
She is an extraordinary cook with very simple, practical, delicious style and results, will be pleased to cook and share her recipes. Her main objective is to learn and practice English and meet people and new opportunities abroad. She enjoyed with Luca, a labrador mastiff dog for 12 years.

Alejandro, 61, was born and raised in Bilbao, helping out in the family food business. As economist, he traveled the world selling food machinery for 25 years. He is an avid traveler, pilgrim, travel guide, model, actor, and enthusiast of new adventures. He is available to help with anything needed in the kitchen, housework, gardening, agriculture, farms, childcare, language exchange, DIY maintenance, etc. He speaks Spanish, English, French and Portuguese. He lived 6 years in Copenhagen, Denmark.

He also had experience in a seasonal restaurant outside Bilbao, helping with a cow farm in Galicia, joined several international communities during summer camps and more recently ran with 2 other volunteers an Albergue/Hostal with capacity up to 50 pilgrims along the French Camino to Santiago de Compostela.

Profesión auxiliar administrativa, actualmente facilitadora de Biodanza, coach / entrenadora personal de “Libre de Amar”, excelente cocinera, entre una de sus habilidades es la parte creativa en todas las areas de desarrollo y liderazgo de equipos de trabajo, etc, etc… Los objetivos de esta experiencia son aprender y practicar ingles y conocer personas y nuevas oportunidades en el extranjero.


Alejandro, 60 años, nació y se crió en Bilbao ayudando en el negocio familiar de alimentación. Economista, recorrió el mundo vendiendo maquinaria durante 25 años. Viajero entusiasta, peregrino, guía de viajes, modelo, actor y entusiasta de nuevas aventuras. Ayudante para todo lo que haga falta en cocina, tareas domésticas, jardinería, agricultura, granjas, cuidado de niños y mayores, intercambio de idiomas, etc. Habla español, inglés, francés y portugués. “

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Since teenager I have been helping family and friends with their own farms and harvesting activities, mostly in Galicia & Leon.

Also volunteered in ZEGG community (outside Berlin) during 5 summer camps where everyday I was participating in a different role: gardening, general maintenance, kitchen, cleaning, etc.

Recently, I became a member of HOSVOL, Volunteer Host / Hospitaleros, running during 2 weeks the Pilgrimage donation-based Albergues along the French Camino to Santiago de Compostela.
