Hi! My name is Alison and I'm from Gilroy, California. If you recognize my hometown it's likely because of our world famous garlic!

Growing up in an agricultural town during historic drought years was part of what influenced my decision to study freshwater. I am proud to say I attained a long term goal of earning a bachelor's degree in environmental systems engineering from Stanford University. I just graduated this June and fresh out of a lifetime of school, I decided to celebrate my accomplishments and broaden my horizons through a months-long Europe trip, my first time.

In my travels one thing I am looking forward to is learning about the water systems. Because water systems are highly variable, specific to the local environment, I hope to engage with and learn about the local water first hand, to understand the problems and solutions specific to different regions and ultimately expand my understanding of water challenges around the world. If you have any leads on interesting water experiences or just want to chat about water, I'm there!

More about me:
I have lived a vegan lifestyle for the past 3 years, with few dietary exceptions in the case of home raised eggs for example. Primarily I exclude animals and animal products from my diet. I love to cook (and eat!), and I especially enjoy cooking and sharing food with others.

I have 3 siblings and I enjoy living in a busy house, though I also enjoy solitude at times. I have been practicing yoga for 8 or so years and I also have a growing meditation practice. I enjoy singing and am great for shower concerts! I love animals and enjoy their company and the comforts and joy they bring.

I'm looking forward to meeting people and making friends along my travels. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I can't wait to meet you!

Was noch ...

I like card games, board games like Bananagrams, puzzles, as well as outdoor fun like frisbee or soccer. At home I bike around a bit and I enjoy practicing yoga, doing home workouts, going to the gym, and going for hikes. I'm also always down to watch a new tv show or movie or try a restaurant (especially if it's vegan :)

  I am primarily vegan, so I do not tend to eat animal's products. I have not had many opportunities to have animal products like eggs or milk from a small farm. I think it could be interesting!
